After the shooting of US Representative Gabrielle Giffords, Representative Michael E. Capuano, a Somerville Democrat, chastised those who use violent political rhetoric. “Everybody knows the last couple of years there’s been an intentional increase in the degree of heat in political discourse,” he said. “If nothing else good comes out of this, I’m hoping it causes people to reconsider how they deal with things."
But Capuano seems not to have taken his own advice. While addressing a group of about 1,000 union workers protesting Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker outside of the State House yesterday, Capuano remarked: "Every once in a while you need to get out on the streets and get a little bloody when necessary.”

You have never worked a day in your life have you?
When you do manual labor you sometimes hurt yourself, most commonly you hurt your knuckles...
It's called an idiom.
