    • millions of fans of Charlie Sheen are viewing the trajectory of his fall. Some are feeling truly helpless and powerless, wanting to help yet knowing that there is absolutely nothing that they could do to stop the free fall. Others could careless, disdainfully asking out loud how a person of such fame and fortune and promise could simply just “throw it all away”—as if the trappings of life were more important than life itself.

Whatever may be the catalyst for someone to stop using drugs or Alcohol, whether it be the right to visit one’s children, the privilege to work at a descent job, or even an opportunity to be viewed by the greater society as a somewhat respected member of that society, it really doesn’t matter. What brings a person to the point that they actually seek help is not as important as what keep them actively seeking help. Seeking help is easy, it's easy when you have to appear in court, it's easy after you get pulled over for DWI. Accepting help, however, now that’s something that requires a little more effort.

Some people are so smart that they are stupid, never once giving thought to the fact that their BEST thinking resulted in embarrassing, potentially life threatening situations. When it is stated that a person will continue to indulge in drugs or alcohol until they hit rock bottom they are leaving out that the bottom could not only mean loosing a job, loosing a home, or even loosing one’s maternity rights, but that bottom may be life itself.
