I understand that Obama has accomplished somethings in spite of the GOP's ideological, almost homicidal opposition, but you have to remember that he followed bush as president, and, well, that's not a tough act to follow: cleaning up the mess he left sure was . But there are major issues on which he (Obama) has not delivered: Guantanamo, wiretapping. . .
And, anyway, was he really, really, ever a little bit to the left, I mean, not when pandering for votes, but on real principle and beliefs?
I have to admit I don't know much about Jeb b..bus....bu.....bush! (my skin crawls just at the sight of that last name and I can hardly pronounce it without feeling dirty!)
I don't know too much about that person, so I would like to know what you think.
My mind is always thirsty for new knowledge and I welcome your opinions and corrections!
Here' s a piece of the article:
"President Obama continued his efforts to move to the political center on his trip to Florida -- to the point of invoking Republican Jeb Bush's name at a Democratic fundraiser, drawing catcalls in the process.
"No, no, no, no, now," Obama said Friday night, drawing laughter from the crowd at the Fontainebleau Resort in Miami. "I know this is not a name you often hear at Florida Democratic fundraisers."

so you think he just lied about being on the left so he could become president and help the right?
so you're as bad as a birther? a "he's a muslim" person.
giving you the caveat that he wants to be a centrist, so he can get elected, do you think he didn't try to accomplish progressive goals?
war related stuff is pretty much his only unfinished business, and leaving a destroyed iraq or afghanistan behind with no structure would be a huge "we told you not to cut and run" campaign against him.
but even against the opposition he faced from the filibuster and the death panel americans-- he oversaw the most progressive two years (and really only a few weeks during lame duck sessions) in history.
i have faith that when he gets his second term and isn't worried about winning another election, ESPECIALLY if the democrats regain control of the house, that they'll accomplish a lot of what they initially intended.
again, besides the war stuff, what has he done that's SO terrible that people have to declare, two years before the election that they're voting for someone else.
and to expand on that, who are they voting for? the republican? that's better? some independent candidate, and waste the vote? let republicans take previously 'blue' states?

To be fair we must recognize that just because you are President doesn't mean you get what you want all the time. The Dems were push overs during the Bush Admin. So, Fighting against well organized manipulative A-holes are probably harder to deal with than any of us think. This is not to say we shouldn't be vocal about Obama not having the teeth to find a way to cripple the wealthy strangle hold big business has on the GOP and in our Government. They say one thing and do another while making a stinking FOX fit the whole time they aren't the majority. They do it cause it works. Our whole economy is based on corporate power. Money talks and must be a compromise all of the time for Obama in order to use a strategy that won't collapse our economy while trying to change their greedy old ways. Sorry if I sound like I am rambling, but I want to say so much about this rant all at once.

Jeb Bush helped to steal Florida.
Or is that all water under the bridge? This is a sincere question, perhaps that doesn't matter or never did matter to the Obama administration.

It's water under the bridge.... whenever you have a bush, their connections and money allow them to hide and slither away, like the rats that they are!!!

Just a couple of days ago, I posted that, with Obama's new "centrist" self-annointment, if Jeb Bush ran for president, it might just be a better choice than Obama.
Obama is clutching the mantle of "centrist" because it provides him an excuse for breaking 30 major campaign promises since he was inaugurated, and for using the power we gave him when we voted him into office more for advancing the GOP/neocon agenda than to use it to fulfill his campaign promises and serve the voters who elected him.
In short, he thinks claiming he is a "centrist" is an excuse for him being nothing better than a bait-and-switch scam artist, who promises you one thing when he wants you to enter into a bargain, but then either delivers something worth much, much less, or fails to deliver anything at all.
