    • From what I hear, the only two members of the African Union who are in support of Gbagbo are Angola and South Africa (which no one can understand Zuma's stand) . Yes Jan, it truly is amazing, sad really.

      I think the African Union is trying to say "we got this", but it hasn't worked out too well so far. There was a lot of coverage early on after the farce of an election, but much of the international attention has shifted north obviously. There is only one solution here, and in the end, Gbagbo will go. It's just going to be a longer, more painful process sadly. Wish revolution comes south of the Sahara in the style it has to the north. Guys like Gbagbo really and truly believe they have the right to rule for life - part of it is a damn-near God complex tied to being part of the generation that broke free of colonialism.

      Yes, he will go, and as you stated unfortunately with a great price attached. And there is not only a political price, but a cultural, environmental and economic price as well. The people of this region have seen so much war, poverty and bloodshed. I truly wish the best for them to see this end.
