Saudi's Ready Thousands of Troops to Crush Growing Revolt

Saudi Arabia's worst nightmare – the arrival of the new Arab awakening of rebellion and insurrection in the kingdom – is now casting its long shadow over the House of Saud. Provoked by the Shia majority uprising in the neighbouring Sunni-dominated island of Bahrain, where protesters are calling for the overthrow of the ruling al-Khalifa family, King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia is widely reported to have told the Bahraini authorities that if they do not crush their Shia revolt, his own forces will.
The opposition is expecting at least 20,000 Saudis to gather in Riyadh and in the Shia Muslim provinces of the north-east of the country in six days, to demand an end to corruption and, if necessary, the overthrow of the House of Saud. Saudi security forces have deployed troops and armed police across the Qatif area – where most of Saudi Arabia's Shia Muslims live – and yesterday would-be protesters circulated photographs of armoured vehicles and buses of the state-security police on a highway near the port city of Dammam. The biggest fear of the Saudi family is that those soldiers refuse to fire on their own countrymen. The Saudi Royal family will find out soon enough.
Many people are discounting the possibility of rebellion succeeding in Saudi Arabia - but crazier things have happened. Sometimes the toughest regimes are also the most brittle.

Any bets that Blackwater/Xe is leading this assault? Any bets that the Pentagon does not want to act in Libya because having Gadaffi stabilize; (by radical subjugation), that country is good for Oil / Military Industrial Incorporated? Any bets that's why the U.S. didn't coordinate an effort with other oil consuming allies,to help the helpless in Libya? Any bets that this is why we're looking at a crimes against humanity crisis there right now?
Is not the collateral tragedy of endless similar or comparable occurrences that the people of the United States can no longer accept with trust, anything that our government is publishing or telling us now? What have we citizens, when we have to ask ourselves at hearing or reading anything that our government issues, "Is there a possibility that this might be true?". When we are at the point, as we now are, that we have to take for granted that anything our government is saying or printing is probably not true, is the government still "of the people, for the people and by the people"?

True! Which is why we need to demand an end to wars now! Troops home, and return the budget to public services. End the completely ineffective and destructive war on drugs now, and return the budget to public services. Are they marching in your community?

That could get extremely ugly. Expect $6 a gallon gas. The Saudi Royal Family is not going down easy. The really bad part is, unlike Egypt and Lybia, the United States will have to pick a side.

Europeans have long paid that much and more for a gallon of gas - it is perfectly doable, restrict driving to that which is necessary, and get smaller cars which can do 60 to 100 miles per gallon.

It seems to me that the more they want to use force against their own people, the more it is going to go badly for them. Egypt (The voice of reason in that region,) has shown how to do it. Libya decided they didn't want that and they have a civil war on their hands. I really hope the Saudi's use common sense for their people, all of their people. If not then maybe they really don't care and are that corrupt.
The people that want change there really need to let the world know what is going on. Expose all that is wrong. I wish them well in their fight.
When are the richest of the rich, when are the dictators, when are the corrupt governments (or those that are corrupt puppets in governments,) going to realize that this is the peoples world and not theirs!

Kill the House of Saud.
For too long these tyrants have oppressed the people of Saudi Arabia, squelching their rights to free speech, real education, cultural expression, representative government, economic empowerment and basic legal representation.
Now they seek to brutally slaughter their own populace, as all dictators must do once the people realize the con they live under.
I'd say good luck to the rebels, but given that the Saudis are our "allies," we'll probably help put them down given the choice. It's disgusting.
For those who haven't done so, I recommend watching "My Trip to Al-Qaeda" for a good portrayal of how fucked up the Saudis are.

They will crush any potential protesters. These guys have Dick Cheneys play book in addition to the Bush's conections. You would have to figure that they brought in Blackwater type millitary. It was hard for Eygtian soldiers to fire on thier uncles and cousins. So you bring in soldiers that have no connection to the population and they will shoot to kill. I believe this was Stalin's play book but I am sure the Bush's have put thier twist on it. I feel bad for those people.

The Saudi Government better learn the obvious fact that force will no longer get what they want. Regimes that have been in power for 40 years based on coercive force have been overthrown in a matter of weeks.

With the amount of oil wealth Saudi Arabia has produced over the past 30 years every Saudi citizen could be multi-millionaires. Instead you have hundreds of billions of U.S. dollars going to the greedy royal family.
