    • ["He said he -wished- he had a gun, so he could get rid of other students who he said had been bullying him."]

Any statement invoking the word "wish" before "gun" is not a threat...it's a fantasy.

The police give as much of a shit about justice as the opposing team does about yours winning the ballgame. That's why they chose a job that came with absolute discretion and almost no accountability! :-D

The fact that both the bullies and the bullied were punished here--with the victim receiving the higher penalty--is proof that the biggest crime the government sees here is that someone didn't use them to settle a personal dispute.

Name-calling? Shame on you. Defending yourself? Go to jail.

On another note...I hope that kid grows up to be a rock star.

      Power to the people.

    • Ah if only the lad were Sicilian. The bully(s) would just so happen to have an accident befall them. Problem solved.

p.s. thanks to all of my uncles.

When I was nine we moved. In the new neighborhood was a eleven year old who "ruled" the neighborhood. Physically he was a few years older. He picked on me everyday he saw me walking home from school. My father told me to take it into my own hands. Cheap shot him. Kick him. Bite him. Anything. Just make him think you're crazy and not going to take it anymore. My dad warned me the kid would beat me up. But if I got in a few good shots he would never bother me again. Bully's don't like to get hit. They move on to the next scared victim.

When I was a soph in high school I was 6'1". The bully was 5'8". I smiled and asked him if he remembered when he used to bully me. I told him he's lucky we're friends now.

    • The schools actions are reprehensible. If authorities do nothing then they should not complain about what this child says. On another note, I do not see where any crime has been committed by our 11 year old victim. "Threatening" should not be a crime. Words are not a crime, only actions. This is bs.

You have to MEAN it. ( just don't SAY "gun". )

That IS sort of where I am coming from in regards to this social equation.

The problem IS,..."STRENGTH",....really does "speak",....the cues do project,.......weak people end up having to kill people; varmint with "back up against the wall" principle..

( death throw berserker attack )

Let me put it THIS way : SURVIVALIST,....semi- autonomous ,...individuals with a "you wont take me alive copper..." mentality,...........NEVER HAVE this problem,....unless they die young,.....and usually someone ELSE does to. They have to be PHYSICALLY attacked .

    • Next time just say you're going to lop off their limbs with the family claymore.

Interesting question,....can you just threaten to have the family "muscle" beat them into a "near" coma ? How "threat" can you be in your dialogue,.....and at what point is it "self defense" ?

I'd feel better, if this were a little better established.

If your kid is an 11 year old "black belt- something or other",....and May,....or May NOT,....be able to make good on a threat to "break all your arms",...can he in legal safety ! How about if hes only a brown belt ? How bout NO belt,....but "biggish" ?

    • Unfortunately the kid said one of the magic words, "gun." But something should have been done before it got to this level. The tap dancing by the school official is exactly like the tap dancing going on at South Hadley (MA) High School. Except the stakes are higher. The bullying victim hung herself. Nine students have been charged with statutory rape, violation of civil rights, criminal harassment and disturbing school assmblies. The school is being investigated for ignoring complaints by the victim and her family. Apparently there were situations where teachers witnessed bullying and walked away.

    • we are living in a narcissistic l society and those who cannot keep up with it gets the brunt of this narcissism.

if you guys want to help "future victims" and at the same time help "future bullies"...try to be promote a more responsible lifestyle, so kids could learn how to be more sensitive and do what is right ..instead of growing up to the charlie sheen and the lady gagas that the we seem to gawk

thats awfully great advice in the grand scheme of life, if not a little judgmental as to whose tastes decide what is relevant to public interest, but the real issue here is that a child went to the proper channels numerous times in order to get discrimination and bullying to cease to no avail, and then when the child said something inappropriate a singe time they were arrested

okay ..but i am looking at this 3 steps ahead of you...you are taking this on a more narrow perspective of one child and fuck the others..im am trying to see this to save these children as a whole and getting them to become a good part of society

quick question..so what do we do with the "bullies"???..we bully them into submission???

    • Alright this kinda stuff needs to stop. We do not need to give citations to children whether they are the bully or the kid who said he wish's he had a gun. When I was that age I was bullied and I'm sure I said things like I wish I had a gun all the time. I wouldn't want any of my bullies to go to jail for it, thats just asinine. THIS KIND OF THINKING THAT WE NEED TO LEGALLY PUNISH CHILDREN FOR THINGS THEY SAY OR DO NEEDS TO STOP. Parents need to be the ones to punish children. Schools need to address these problems with detention and saturday school we do not need the law in it! When I was in high school 10 years ago we were allowed to have hunting rifles in our vehicles during hunting season, of course I went to a country hick school but none the less the cops do not need to be called for this CHILD saying this!

    • Further proof that people who go after gay people only do so because it's the only thing that proves their masculinity. I hope the bullies get shit for acting like such pussies towards a "fag".

    • This school did nothing to help this 11 year old boy. The school should be held responsible. But when their negligence is pointed out, they blame the 11 year old.
