Environmental activist Tim DeChristopher was convicted last week of two felony counts for disrupting an auction of more than 100,000 acres of federal land for oil and gas drilling in December 2008. Award-winning journalist Naomi Klein talks about why she signed on to a public letter of support for DeChristopher. "What did Tim DeChristopher do wrong? They said that he participated in an auction and without the intention to pay," Klein says. "Oil and gas companies privatize the profits from their resource extraction but externalize the costs, being the pollution and the cleanup... Climate change [is] the biggest disaster of all and the highest price tag of all—this, created by the fossil fuel industries... They have no intention of paying that cost."

It is how the Rich protect their money. Profits are the Most important thing to them, more important than any average person's life. The people and the countries resources are only a means to profit, nothing more. They will Take everything they can get their hands on so we need to Take From them the means to destroy society and we have very little time to keep society from being completely destroyed at the hands of these A$$HOLES!
The only thing that these people allow to "Trickle Down" is their $hit. They will protect their money with Any Lies and Actions necessary and the Government is the Only means to control them.
Since the elimination of the Fairness Doctrine the Rich have successfully Demonized our government through propaganda and the Rules and Regulations that were designed to keep the type of Greed that caused the Great Depression in check have been effectively eliminated by their "Donations". We need to reinstate the regulations that were put in place to protect the public from the Greed of the Rich, along with the tax rates we had during our most productive period in history, *(85% on Top wages along with Fair taxes on Corporate Profits with NO loopholes!).
Are we ever going to learn from the past? Answer: Not with continuing Cuts to education. The Rich Want the public as Dumb as possible so that they will be as easily manipulated as possible with their Propaganda which Now has No Limits.
I feel there is a Revolution coming and the Rich, the Republicans and the Tea Partiers are Not going to like the results. - 1 year ago

All true. The only way government will be reformed from within, is if we impose campaign finance reform from without. The only way we can do that, is to force the corporate right controlled government to it's knees.

We live in a system where corporate profits are privatized and costs and expenses are socialized. I would prefer it to be either purely private profits/expenses or purely socialized profits/expenses. The current privatized profits /socialized expenses is the worst of any system. It's blatant Corporatism.

Welfare for the Big Oil boys?
With Apologies to Casablanca
Charles Koch: I'm shocked, shocked to find that oil welfare is going on in here!
[a Gas and Oil regulator hands Koch a pile of money]
Regulator: Your Welfare, sir.
Charles Koch: [sotto voce] Oh, thank you very much.
[aloud]Charles Koch: Everybody out at once! Nothing to see. - 1 year ago

The hidden costs of our gasoline exposed in this article, plus the hidden costs of war to protect oil's profits in the middle east, make our gasoline as expensive as if the Pentagon provided it!
