Tea Party Nation blames Anonymous for porn, racism

Tuesday, Judson Phillips, founder of the Tea Party Nation, claimed his organization is under attack by the Internet hacktivist group known as "Anonymous." Phillips claims Anonymous is posting images of porn and racism to his web site. Anonymous, a collective of Internet activists without any defined leadership structure, is notorious for their ability to take down, paralyze, and other wise humiliate people and organizations.

Phillips claims his conservative, right wing political web site, Tea Party Nation, has been bombarded with posts containing pornographic and racist images. Phillips claims Anonymous has launched "Operation Reaganomics," targeting his organization. In a statement released on the Tea Party Nation web site forum Phillips said:

So far, Anonymous' attacks have been mostly of the juvenile nature. They have been coming online, posing as Tea Party members and posting racist messages. Those are being deleted quickly. Two nights ago, one of them posted extremely graphic and disturbing pornographic pictures. We discovered it and quickly deleted them. They then sent a suspended message saying, "expect us."
The only problem with Phillips' story is that Anonymous is not taking responsibility for the supposed attack. At this time it is unclear whether or not there is an actual attack by Anonymous. Raw Story reports new operations are typically posted on websites such as AnonNews.org, advertised on social networking websites like Twitter, or discussed on Internet Relay Chat (IRC). No mention of an operation against the Tea Party Nation could be found at AnonNews.org or on Twitter.

Of late, claiming to be a victim of Anonymous has become something of a fad for fringe right wing groups. Recently the Westboro Baptist Church claimed to be under attack by Anonymous, a claim that proved to be false. Indeed, the claim proved to be nothing but an attempt to generate publicity for the attention hungry homophobic church.

However, Anonymous has taken down several conservative websites in the recent past, and claimed responsibility for doing so. Several weeks ago Anonymous launched Operation Wisconsin. They attacked Club For Growth and Americans For Prosperity, both associated with the super-conservative, super-rich Koch brothers.

Before those attacks Anonymous accused the Koch brothers and their financial empire of attempting "to usurp American Democracy," and called for a "boycott all Koch Industries' paper products." Anonymous accused the Koch brothers of taking "actions to undermine the legitimate political process in Wisconsin."

It could be that Anonymous is not responsible for the supposed attack on Tea Party Nation. It could be that Tea Party Nation subscribers are simply fond of making racist and pornographic posts. This would not be the first time the Tea Party has been associated with porn and racism. One need only recall Tea Party darling, New York gubernatorial candidate Carl Paladino, and his notorious emails, filled with racist and pornographic images.

    • Good thing republicans would never approve of updating the antivirus software for municipal computer systems. No matter how bad they strip government, Anon will always be able to win. I love a catch 22.

Yeah I remember. A momentary glitch in their systems. You guys didn't bust a grape where it came to their systems. They shook you off like fleas. Why don't you guy's grow up and go demonstrate, make a real difference and show your face so the world can count the numbers against their tyranny. IF that's what you guys are really about.Or better yet, if your such an intellectual then you could always run for office and really get your word out.

They seem to be up and running to me and especially interested in this site and YOU!!! lol. I like the way the one up front in the picture is holding a sign, "We are not afraid" yet has his pimply face covered with a stupid mime mask. BTW. I bet the next group of masked folks like that will be frisked and questioned from one end to the other once they have the balls to bring their mask out of the closet again. The FBI will find out if your the garbage guy or the factory worker, don't forget, the cops believe in the old philosophy, guilt by association. You guy's are just like any other criminal, you'll paint yourself into a corner and they'll get you one by one till the rest lose what little balls they do have and stop all together. If you figure on getting away with something you don't warn the victim first. That's like telling someone, "I'm gonna punch you in the mouth." you don't talk smack about it, you just do it. :)

You just don't get it do you? It is not illegal to belong to the Anonymous movement or to wear the mask. The mask is not only for anonymity but also to be equal to one another so that principles before personalities is maintained. This is a worldwide movement and people of all walks of life, ages, gender, creeds, nationalities, etc., are members. It isn't about being a hacktivist. Only a very small percentage of members have the talent to do that. It is about exposing the lies that hold the People of the planet hostage to repression and suppression. Members of this movement are not afraid of anything. That is why we announce our actions or campaigns. The announcements also serve to separate true members from wannabes. If one member falls, ten will step up to take his or her place. I am sure someone monitors this site for Anonymous chatter, but getting the message out is also not illegal. I have no idea where your anger and fear lie. Expect us.

    • More then likely one of their kids got on their page and posted some of daddies porn and some of mommies badly misspelled text documents and they didn't want to admit it because that goes against "family values" so they blamed the nice folks at Anon because the preacher told them it was ok.

    • Well, I'm not a Tea Party fan, but it seems that there should be a far easier way to dispute their dogma than by using porn. I get the fact that they don't care what people think and this is their method to alter or change the world. It just seems debased and not very well thought out. /shrug

    • As I suggested the other day, it sounds like something one of their own would do and then try to blame it on Anonymous. I don't think this is the route Anonymous would take to sabotage the Tea Baggers. They do plenty of that on their own.

    • This does seem like Anonymous' MO, or least it was a couple years ago.

Since then anonymous has become something much more than just pranksters doing it for the lulz.

    • Jon_Crane:

When Anonymous first started out, it WAS a bunch of smart teenagers hacking away just for the lulz. However, We Are Anonymous has grown and matured into a movement of people worldwide of which some are master hactivists. The Tea Party website is not worth their time of effort. What has happened to the Tea Party website is not the work of Anonymous. We Are Anonymous has bigger fish to fry.

    • Just another publicity stunt by Teabaggers. Anonymous would not waste their time with these idiots. Besides, the hactivists of Anonymous do not put racist or porn on the sites they have hacked. Those types of images are what kids do, and the hactivists of Anonymous are extremely serious in their work.
