The Obama administration, Libyan intervention and knowing the truth, what the so-called progressive left is not telling you.

VFORVENDETTA
Greetings to all, I have received many e-mails requesting that I rant on several different subjects over the last week, and although I certainly appreciate that so many of you nice folks enjoy my "rants" I always think of rants of having an inherent negative connotation, if anything, I would like to think as what I post as lectures, at any rate, thank you, here we go.

There is a certain degree of feelings of futility associated with redundancy, I'm sure that many of you have experienced the same effect yourself, as when someone is speaking at a hall to a large group of people, let's say the person in this case has momentarily had the complete attention of all those in the hall, and makes a statement that is very important, very truthful and affects the lives of people everywhere. After the statement is made, there is perhaps a very long moment of silence (complete silence with only the sound of chirping crickets in the background) then, to the speaker's amazement, the crowd almost simultaneously begins chattering loudly to one another again, with peripheral conversation that seems to indicate, that SOMEHOW the entire crowd were not listening or did not understand what the speaker was saying. If you can empathize with this feeling, then perhaps what I'm about to say may make it through to you.

What is going on with the Obama Administration concerning Libya, or our own domestic policy is actually staged and designed, it is designed to give the citizen the illusion that your thoughts and concerns matter when in reality, they don't. What is taking place is a game within a game, the real game is World Empire and its resources, both human and otherwise that are being played out by the world's richest people who consequently, control the government's of the world's wealthiest and most powerful nations.

The goal in short, is to continue the second part of the game and make it as convincing as possible, that is, by controlling the media to such an extent that you make people actually BELIEVE that what they think matters, or by occupying them with caring about sports, show business personalities or personal fulfillment by being an endless consumer, accomplishes the primary goal, the marginalization of the average citizen, those in control don't really care what you think, the point is to keep you bickering amongst yourselves about things in general, that in real terms, are either inherently meaningless, or as I already stated, you have no control over in the first place. Here's a very small example. Many times I'm sure you've heard, news pundits point out a leaders popularity ratings, either how popular that leader is at this time, or how popular a given policy or policy decision is on something which is apparently very "controversial" but what-in practical concrete terms- does that mean?

If for instance such a person’s popularity had an actual concrete consequence, i.e. polls were taken from week to week and the person could actually be fucking fired if their performance or likability didn't maintain a certain percentage, then it would make sense, but in reality because there is no real concrete consequence, it makes no fucking difference whatsoever, if that were the case, George Bushes ass would've been out of office a long time ago, and if true democracy existed, would've been in prison at bare minimum. Another meaningless cliche stated repeatedly by those in positions of power and/or "celebrities" as well, who have been caught doing something illegal, immoral or again soap opera style "drama" is-I take full and complete responsibility for my actions- okay, I'm waiting for the other shoe to fall here, isn't there supposed to be a penalty phase here? With that kind of logic, any criminal (after guilt has been determined) could say to any judge for any crime-Your Honor, I want you and the court to know, that I take full and complete responsibility for my actions-there's a long pause of silence of the courtroom, then the judge says-well, you heard it folks, this person takes full and complete responsibility for their actions- bangs the gavel and calls for the next case, where's the fucking penalty?

The spokespeople (I know how much you want to love them-I once did as well) for the left and progressive movement are guilty of perpetuating this process of marginalization, very well paid celebrity progressive talking heads such as Rachel Maddow, Chris Matthews and yes… Keith Olbermann (please put the knives away) are extremely good at what they do, in a very laser beam like focused manner, they accurately point out lies and inconsistencies in all manner of the political arena, and as I said, they're very good at it. But the bottom line, is that the net effect for us as individuals and society as a whole, is an honest open and accurate critique of who's doing what to who on a given soap opera show. In other words, it's what they're not saying that's important, which is part of the marginalization process that they actively participate in, (The CPB and NPR) are particularly guilty of this action, but that's a whole other story, just follow the outlandish salaries that many of the people that you have grown to trust and identify with (such as celebrity cult of personality Keith Olbermann-please put the knives away) and remember, he who pays the piper, calls the tune, always.

So in short, here's what's going on, plutocratic governments around the world have their own game going and intend on only doing barely enough for their citizens to placate them from open revolt, your true purpose as a citizen in a plutocracy, is to shut up, work endlessly for as little as they can pay you, and be a loyal fucking consumer, who’s patriotic and conditioned to accept perpetual war (or "interventions" which sounds nicer), and nothing more from the cradle to the grave. That my friend is the current reality, or as business criminals like to say, the bottom line, of our existence. I remain V.

    • I agree Corporate America is a plutocracy. If we could all know the inner workings of the worlds wealthiest, the citizens would no longer occupy their time with just being consumers.

    • You got it right, good little consumers. They don’t care if we have jobs to pay for the good little consumer products, but what the hell. It’s the desire to consume that sometimes counts the most. Walk around the stores and ogle things you wish you could have. Make sure you watch ‘The Price is Right’ and oooh and aaah with the audience as they display the piece-of-crap popcorn maker. To desire and get ‘this year’s model’ when you haven’t finished paying for last year’s yet is the ultimate goal.
No matter where you travel the same retail outlets are right there, waiting for you. You can always feel safe knowing your Kmart is there. You never have to take the chance of trying out strange indigenous food when you visit another town or city, Olive Garden will welcome you with outsretched adolescent arms, pushing wine in your face to dull your pain.
On the media outlets there will be a constant bombardment about heroes who are sacrificing in foreign locales for your pathetic little life, (and they are, but not for us, for Exxon/Mobil). Meanwhile back home the “good hands” of Allstate run commercials every 5 seconds and charge their stooge customers triple the rate that the “quieter” companies charge. But that’s okay, the image of the kindly spokesman as the great protector makes me want to give them more. Why, I don’t even want to be bothered by all those pesky little budget details that our great benefactors in Washington are saving us from. Let’s let the educated experts tell us how much we don’t need those communistic social programs anymore because they are trying to save us from gluttonous overspending. It’s all about the children, after all.

    • V, I deeply admire and appreciate your energy and your clarity.
I'd be a little less hard on Rachel Maddow myself, as I think anyone who strives to tell the truth in the face of committed obstacles against it, is an ally, but I do take your point.
Even though I think information about how and what the system is destroying this week is valuable, fundamentally, it could be seen as helping perpetuate the system.
As I said, I don't fully agree with that view, (how else could millions of Americans heard what is happening in Wisconsin now?) because to fully endorse it would leave the field to the minions of Fox News and others fully in the pay of the toxic system as it now exists.
Fox News does very well with that massive propaganda platform. To abdicate the power of even one small voice against it, just isn't in the final analysis, very good tactics in my opinion.
I, like many of us here I think, are fairly well informed about the poisonous and untenable state of the system through both knowledge and personal experience. We are not exactly waiting for the next shoe to drop---that of direct and effective action against the system--- but looking forward to seeing that shoe go careening through the window.
I think we'll need all the national voices we can to help aim that shoe.

I very much appreciate what you said, unfortunately, part of what I'm saying is STILL being misunderstood, which in itself is not surprising, because where I'm coming from is so very different then most people have ever heard, that they simply have no idea of what I'm talking about, which of course makes explaining this position, very difficult, I'm not trying to be at all ambiguous, I'm just trying to explain as best I can. what this has to do with, is something that is very simple yet also very complex at the same time, and it has to do with resource allocation models, if that makes any sense to you, if not, I guess you'll just have to wait for the book. Take care.

Well, I do understand the concept of allocation models. In my heart of hearts, (which sometimes,n rare occasions, shows up on my sleeve), I'd be skateboarding through pluperfect delight if suddenly we let all the paradigms of our fetish for consumption and our childish affinity compulsions drop away. If you have a way to make that happen faster, or at all, I'm with you on that.
Truthfully, one of my favorite allocation models involves a lot fewer humans chewing up the landscape; the other has them getting a lot smarter, a lot faster.

I can't comment on the skate boarding...or childish affinity compulsions..... but what I'm talking about involves very serious mathematical formulas, but in general, a lot very humans ( which of course does not include conservatives or fundamentalist) sounds a great idea, the other, is to people having only two offspring, but that's a whole other story, you're a pleasure to post with!!! -gentlemen! give this woman a shot of the best booze in the house-on me!!!

When all you have is bombs, everything starts to look like a target. And so after years of providing Libya's dictator with the weapons he's been using against the people, all the international community -- France, Britain and the United States -- has to offer the people of Libya is more bombs, this time dropped from the sky rather than delivered in a box to Muammar Gaddafi's palace.

If the bitter lesson of Iraq and Afghanistan has taught us anything, though, it's that wars of liberation exact a deadly toll on those they purportedly liberate -- and that democracy doesn't come on the back of a Tomahawk missile.

I agree that plutocratic agenda have become more evident; but only because of increasing information transparency (Which is also under threat). We are in a major shift now where everyone can enjoy being out of their comfort zone. The wake up call is here; don't over or under react, and press on!

That you can not even tacitly participate
You got to place yourself on the gears, the wheels, all the mechanisms
And you've got to indicate to those that own it and those who run it
That unless you are FREE the Machine will be prevented from working AT ALL!

Knowledge is power and in sufficient numbers.....we, the people of the world, can hold the power and become the masters of our own destiny..... instead of letting a few divide us and manipulate us like pawns in their global chess game.

    • No knives from me V. Thank you for this post. I have come to believe that both political parties are two sides of the same coin. Yes, I am a Keithie for what he has shown since I have been watching him but also I am expecting more from him once he gets the public mantle again. But I do think you are correct in that it is the things that even lefties or progressives won't touch that are the very things that need to be revealed. How much of it tho is simply knowing which side their bread is buttered. When I think of the one American (Private Manning) who recently tried to bring enlightenment to the antics of our government and how he is being treated by our own government, I wonder just how deep the consequences of the threat to the status quo. The very real possibility that he may be put to death for showing the truth (regardless of which vehicle he chose to display it) in America, has to be frightening to public personas on some level. There is no incentive to throw one's livelihood and possibly life away because too many of us will just sit back and watch the show.

My thoughts as well. Naive as it is not to recognize corporate control over ALL media, it's equally naive not to realize the direct threats posed to leftie spokespeople. This includes bodily injury and loss of life for personalities on the left who dare speak real truth to power. We all know some of those who've already "gotten the message." I'll spare giving details with specific examples, considering the point I'm making. It's not just the media spokespeople who are under threat. Think about it. Anyone who "sees the light" and speaks the truth, or plans to speak/write the truth could be eliminted. Our idols from all walks of life, not just media talking heads, are at risk of "accidents" and such.

I agree Mike, I even wonder if our own presidents has not been threatened or intimidated in some way. Of course it could be he's simply a politician but I can also imagine him being sincere on his campaign run then once sworn in the brakes were put on exactly how much he could do for the people and expect to survive it. It sure seems that way. Again, of course, he could just be a politician.

V, I imagine a lot of people are like I am. I hear everything that you are saying and I have finally come around to your thinking. It is hard to realize that what you have believed for basically your whole life is a lie. To find out that it doesn't matter which side you vote it is all the same crap, just a different name. I feel like I have been awakened from a dream into a nightmare. The good news is, realizing that it is all shit helps to know what is reality. I'm angry, very angry, that there seems to be no one that wants to do what is good for others and to put self last. I have made friends mad because I am no longer enamored with our President. I am dismayed and disgusted. It is the same dance to a different tune (actually maybe its just a remix of the same song). I didn't want to listen to you at first because it depresses me. It makes me feel very insignificant. I look to those much smarter than I am to show me the process by which this can be fixed (lack of a better word). I appreciate the awakening V. Take care

Americas oil consumption is so disproportionate to the rest of the world. I see it as the core of all military intervention and ecological poisonings. In the late 90s California's EPA pushed for cleaner standards for cars and trucks. Had the Bush administration not rolled back every decent thoughtful protection of the environment, we might now be enjoying utopia. Aw fuck, who am I kidding. Still Energy remains at the core of all bullshit in politics. I just wish there was more a country boy like me could do to effect positive change, but the drums of intervention play an overwhelming beat.

On the side note, harvesting methane from Rush and Billo may be a sensible sustained future energy; something like the farms in the "Matrix".

You cannot feel me connect to you . Unless i respond in some way . Yet here i am . Trying not to be too dyslexic as i slowly type . For every one that reaches back , there are at least 12 that cannot or do not . This fragile connection, so easily broken , is a great threat to them . I say to you , these "rants" , are good : )

Key rebel freedom civilian Journalist "Muhammed" from free libya tv was killed(Live on air ) , and international calls to and from Libya cut off all our contacts there with families here and ex-pats concerned of well, what you are saying here.. What "they" all are not counting on is how well we really are connected no matter what they do the cats outta the bag ... The people will not be silenced ( the Free cities and free people of Libya are very aware of this situation and tension here .. as well they are grateful for all thats been done already we could stop any further actions , they know its up to them they wanted bombing from Gadaffi to stop (no fly zone) they'll do the rest if not well its their fight for freedom .. lets not allow the rich to hyjack Freedom Movement and reform around the world through continued violence and War...

As I read the first lines of this "lecture", if you will, the word "duh" escaped from my lips. It's become crystal clear that we're fed "shit to digest" from the mainstream media. "Panam Circum", or roughly translated, bread and show (or entertainment) is what they use to keep us busy. The American people need to break away from their lives of recurrence and wake up. The peices fit together to perfectly, and while I sound super convinced of conspiracy theories and get ridiculed for not calling them theories we are altogether under attack.

Seriously, the TC is the elephant in the room, nobody wants to admit it, look at it, talk about it, nothing. Certain people would rather pretend that the TC are just a nice group of people who get together to have donuts and coffee once a month and plan their next golf tournament, and because there are right and left wing extremists out there railing about the TC, it therefore proves, to the Unis amongst us, that actually understanding or talking about what they are really up to is being a conspiracy theorist. Exactly what you just described is what happens whenever the TC is brought up on Current. Someone moves to discredit another person's post, and it keeps people wondering, not sure, arguing and calling each other names, that way no one makes the obvious statement....

    • The current issue of intervention in Libya is very complex and I doubt oil or the need to create an empire is the primary concern and or logic. The people of Libya have asked the international community for help as they are unable to fight against tanks and aircrafts that are at the disposal of Gaddafi. The revolutionaries asked for help and the Arab League as well as the African Union approved for a no fly zone. The resolution then passed through the UN and the resolution itself within the UN was introduced by France. A coalition of nations have gone into the effort of dismantling heavy armor units and aircrafts that have pushed the revolutionaries of Libya back. If the international community didn't respond, who knows what Gaddafi would have done to the people of Benghazi.

I was troubled by the very limited information we got about the situation . It seemed like the good thing to do , yet IF the internet was up there , well i do not feel satisfied with the data . Those reporters were endangered and killed , for a reason , i just wish the people could send out info . If there were a way to get pirate wifi where we needed it , and info out , that would be a good thing . Priority one , i would say .

What I see is another excuse for the Government and the rich to play with their
big-boy toys. It has so little to do with the "people" it's obvious, well, to some of us.

Ah....I feel so much better now.... after writing all day, and making this post, I think it's time for a well-deserved shot of bourbon! Do I have anyone who wishes to propose a toast out here?
