Last week I wrote why I would not pledge my allegiance to the flag of the United States of America. Not surprisingly, I received a number of emails, some all in caps, yelling at me the familiar phrase so fraught with redneck intelligence and wit (or is that an oxymoron?) “America, Love it or Leave it!” Talk about polarizing the continuum? No wonder we are in such deep shit!
