Pastor had sex with teens to cure their homosexuality

Image

A former youth pastor in Council Bluffs, Iowa, says he had sex with teenage boys because it was his pastoral duty “to help (the teen) with homosexual urges by praying while he had sexual contact with him.”

But law enforcement has a different view of his actions. Earlier this month, Brent Girouex, 31, was arrested on 60 counts of suspicion of sexual exploitation by a counselor or therapist, reported The Daily Nonpareil.

In February, Girouex told Council Bluffs police detectives that he had sexual contact with four young men starting in 2007 in order to help them gain “sexual purity in the eyes of God.”

But Pottawattamie County Attorney Matt Wilber told the Nonpareil that at least eight men have come forward with complaints that Girouex molested them.

Court documents indicated Girouex told investigators the most sexual contact he had was with one teen over a four-year period, starting when the boy was 14 years old. Calling the contact “mutual,” he said it had occurred between “25 and 50 times” during that period.

When investigators spoke to the teen, who’s now an adult, he told them the number was between 50 and 100.

Three other young men who were teenagers when the incidents occurred told investigators the sex occurred at Girouex’s home. All said they went to be helped with “sexual purity.”

“When they would ejaculate, they would be getting rid of the evil thoughts in their mind,” Girouex allegedly told detectives.

Wilber said investigators are following leads to see if there are more victims. Girouex is currently free on $30,000 bond.

    • This is really pathetic. This "Pastor" obviously used religion to indulge in his own homosexual fetishes. Dude your gay so what! That doesn't give you the right to try to supress it while indulging in it.

actually, christians are usually not very informed about their porported view of reality...if you take the idol scriptures and christian history, the other unforgivable sin would be suicide.

    • They should execute him at the earliest convenience. I hate to hear about bastards like this taking advantage of children and putting a blight on the church. His story is so ridiculous i'm pissed off that some of these reasonably intelligent posters cant seem to figure out that this is a pedophile issue not a church issue. If no church existed this dude would be leading a Boy scout troop somewhere he was youth pastor in a church that did not support what he was doing , have the balls to call ace a ace and a spade a spade this isn't no westboro baptist situation , this is that chris hansen "have a seat over there " situation.

"have the balls"? please, if we go around saying that this mystical "church" thing that you believe, whatever that's supposed to be ( im guessing your talking about the idea of the religion itself), is perfect and all its flaws are do not to the idea but to the other ideas that mix in with its implementation than we might as well become communists. The Christian organisations are not perfect and niether are the boy scout organizations. If "this dude would be leading a Boy scout troop somewhere" the boy scout organization would be to blame, just as the ignorance and false trust of the christian organizations are responsible for this. This is clearly a "Church" pedophile issue, im not sure how you missed that...it must have been the overwhelming glare of your desire to have people agree with your believes in the essential makeup of reality.

    • The theory they are employing is so stupid. Number one, what is wrong with being gay to begin with and number two, why would a "pastor" reason that a person could be "cured" of being gay by having sex? That's like curing an overeater by taking them to a buffet. I'm just saying.

      ummmm... nice context.
what pelosi was hoping for was that people would understand that she doesn't know the future, and doing something is better than sitting in your ass getting paid to not make things better. While Republitards were wildly screaming that the bill might be the anti-christ in disguise(since they hadn't had a chance to pay someone else to read it)...she was trying (though should have known she would fail) to proove the point that any bullshit is possible and the people were completely free to change the bill in the future if something was implementationally wrong with it... so the best thing was to pass it, and not torture the american people longer. What was in the bill was clearly in black and white...none of it was in any code that the republican mucher representatives wouldn't understand: however, they kept on making shit up to keep their greedy power.

sarcastic p.s. - its a good thing you quoted her directly instead of ignorantly butchering her comment as foxites do.

    • 2damax:

It had nothing to do with divining the future and everything to do with knowing the present--as in the specifics of the bill. The version voted on was not presented to Congress in time for them to read the whole thing. You do realize that a Health Insurance and Big Pharma Bailout bill got passed, not a health care bill? What an asinine and uninspiring thing for her to say. Painting me with the FOX brush reveals a preference for character assassination as opposed to debate. By the way, I support single payer.

Even If all that you responded is true...what i said also remains true. your responce only shows your opinion... if congress people were too slow to read the black and white print, then they shouldn't have voted on it at all, yet many of them did. so i guess in your imagination all of them AND pelosi didn't read it. You DONT vote a bill down because you didn't read it...that's retarded.

    • 2damax:

They shouldn't have held the vote without reading it. You don't vote up a bill when you haven't read it. That is majorly irresponsible and flies in the face of representative govt.

It's not my imagination. The bill was over 2000 pages. You can look up when it was submitted for a vote, when the vote was held, and then do the math.

"retarded" in the context that you use it is inappropriate.

who didn't read it but voted it up anyways... that's pretty stupid... like going to war based on lies. If the Democrats trusted the crafters of the bill that's also pretty stupid (As some D's trusted Bush). If you don't read a bill you don't vote on it at all. voting something down because you were too slow to read it is retarded. The reason republicans don't trust government is because they suck at it. Again, Congress people have aids. 2,000 pages is nothing when you spread it around with the inteligent competant aids that you are surrounded by...I guess Republican's don't have much of those.

"inappropriate" in the context that you use it is retarded.

As someone raising a mentally handicapped niece I take issue with your frivolous use of the term "retarded." Whatever excuse you have for elected reps not reading bills before they enact them, fine. Clearly it's a problem in representative govt's to have such willfully uninformed representatives.

This IS really disturbing. NOT "crazy" religious freaks, It's CRAZY HOMOSEXUAL FREAKS. Are ALL gay people freaks - NO. I think the majority are fine people as is the majority of hetero people. But when you have a few bad people that are part of the "gay community" prey on others like this, you don't call them on it. Let's blame it on religion. The only reason this story is here is because it's a pastor. And it's EASIER for him to blame it on some crazy RELIGIOUS reasoning instead of owning up to it as, just wanting to get some gay sex.

The only ones that make the news are the ones that screw up horribly , back in the day they would catch them cheating on their wives with other women or hookers like jimmy swaggart now the only ones that make the news are ones with any remote connection to homosexuality if you hear a half dozen stories about religious perverts and none about anything else that is going to leave the impression that all ministers are evil predators.

It has to do with Sin. Christianity teaches that your natural urges and attractions are evil. Supression of these urges is considered chaste and pure. Suppress them long enough and children become easy prey.

maybe organized religion is a trick of satan and prayer is a tool of his.. i mean say there is a god, who is all perfect all seeing and gave us the gift of free will.. so like, he couldnt look in on us anymore, otherwise in his all knowingness he would know our future, which would take away free will and make it destiny.. so maybe the devil, in a move to lessen god decides hey i will trick these humans into trying to reach god, trying to communicate with him and such, and once they succeed, boom god has become fallible, or at least a liar, in either case god is therefore diminished, which the devil would totally dig..

all the hate, wars, and lies perpetrated in the name of religion would be just like a side benefit to the rascally devil

Not really. That sort of talk is exactly the sort of things that the bad fundies spew- hatred, generalizations, tarring things with the same brush...

The world is a big place, there are bad people and there are good people. Churches are just another part of people's culture and their community support systems. I'm not religious, but I wouldn't want to take that away from those who are or just denigrate it unreasonably. By doing that you make yourself as bad as the bigoted religious people you dislike.

Paedophiles tend to gravitate towards positions where they have authority over children. That's all this is. They can be anyone- pop musicians, sporting stars, teachers, guardians, police, doctors, priests, scout masters, life guards, politicians... Anyone.

And soon, your Honor, with banners flying and with drums beating we'll be marching backward, BACKWARD, through the glorious ages of that Sixteenth Century when bigots burned the man who dared bring enlightenment and intelligence to the human mind! • They must be a large group of pedophiles and their sympathizers here on Current.

I posted the comment "Since this gay sees others celebrating their sexual depravity in society in broad day light and calling it a "movement", of course he thought it was a license from society of the twisted depraved mentality and gave the excuse he did. They now believe "Anything goes".

And it has been censored. I should probably alert the authorities, because I seem to have stumbled onto a pedophilia ring, on Current.com.

Really right now? There is just so much ignorance in your words its excruciating. I haven't a clue as to what your problem is but really dude seek help. Your have absolutely no empathy and your every word is laced with malice and misunderstanding. Seriously I think you have some stuff you really need to deal with, a good professional can really help you deal with whatever it is that is creating all this hate in your life. You know your bible says in Matthew 22
"37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
38 This is the first and great commandment.
39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.
40 On these two COMMANDMENTS hang all the law and the prophets."
All commandments hang on love, I ask you where is the love? I don't see it, in your words, in the way your treat someone else so flippantly I do not see the love. Christian means to be like Christ, can you really say that Christ would say anything to one of his children that was not in love?

I don't see any outcry of this man's actions from the gay community. And the comments on this post are along more along the lines of "gottcha" to the church. As if the gays infiltrated the church and initiated some form payback by raping young boys. Where is the condemnation? Nowhere. The gay pedophiles on current are cheerleading .

You don't see the outcry, all the comments have mocked ridiculed or condemned this man, both for his actions and for his hypocrisy. If you want condemnation I can give it, this man is sick vile and disgusting, there is little question about that, I am fairly sure everyone here is in the same place. To be honest in my opinion he should be publicly executed, for taking advantage of young boys who are in such a place of pain and confusion. No one in the gay community will support him for what he did, but I can tell you many in the gay community would love to rip him limb from limb. That still does not justify your hate.
