(Cleveland) – It was an April Fool’s joke, but Cleveland police aren’t laughing.
On Friday morning, police got a call that shots had been fired at 601 Lakeside Avenue, which is Cleveland City Hall. As police were responding, they got a further report that the call was nothing more than a prank.
The police who responded were told that a city employee had called her boyfriend, and told him shots were fired in City Hall as an April Fool’s joke. Before the boyfriend realized it was a prank, he called police.
Not just police were there, as Cleveland fire crews and EMS were also brought to the scene before they were told the call was a prank.
The city employee, 30-year-old Rhodia Wallace of Bedford, has been arrested, and charged with inducing panic and making false alarms.
