Are holy books ambiguous enough to be bent to anyone's liking?

Distorted religious propaganda to further political agenda. Surprised?
I'm not sure how some right wingers sleep at night. Many who are outspoken about religion are the antithesis of what their religion was founded on. Deviants and sociopaths alike, actions will always speak louder than words.

"Another recent FRC lecturer offered a related interpretation of the Bible's calls for social justice. "Christ does not necessarily condemn the rich per se," said Mark Caleb Smith, the director of the Center for Political Studies at Cedarville University. But, he added, the good book does at times condemn the poor..."

    • Yes, holy books are ambiguous enough to be bent to anyone's liking- but these right-wingers bend it to the breaking point.

They go completely against the actual words of Jesus, who was without a doubt a Liberal, and perhaps a socialist, figure.

On the concept of taxes, he said render unto Caesar that which is Caesars. You can't get clearer than that. He was taking specifically about taxes at the time.

On the topic of personal accumulation of wealth, he said it was easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven.

Again, these passages are clear and obvious, with no ambiguity, yet the right wing ignores them.

The Christian Fundamentalists are exactly like the Pharisees of scripture that Jesus hated so much.
