UPDATE!
Colleen -
They just announced -- only minutes ago -- the final precincts in the WI Supreme Court race and we won!!
WI Republicans are in a panic. There will be a recount, but the damage is already done. In fact, district by district results show major problems for the WI Republican Senators across the state -- especially for Republican Senator Dan Kapanke where JoAnne Kloppenburg won his district handily.
We have the momentum -- now it's time to shut them out! Contribute $8 to keep our hard-hitting TV ad on the air.
The election would never have been close if it weren't for you and the work of DFA and Progressive Change Campaign members nationwide. We made 96,945 calls to voters since last Thursday. In an election decided by only a few votes, the impact of these calls can't be understated.
Make no mistake: Republicans will fight back. Incumbents are always hard to beat. They out spent us this time and nearly pulled it out. You can bet they will double down for the upcoming recalls.
That's why we need to hit them hard -- right now -- while the energy is highest and deal a fatal blow.
Please contribute right now.
And thank you, Colleen, for everything you do to win.

Well, all the votes are in in Wisconsin. And challenger JoAnne Kloppenberg is up by 204 votes. Here's the latest report.
Now, bear in mind. There's almost certainly going to be some more adjustments. And you can count on a recount. But there aren't any more collection of votes that are yet to be counted or reported.

UPDATE!
Amazing! With 99% of precincts reporting, we're winning the Wisconsin Supreme Court race by 447 votes! We have a real chance to defeat Scott Walker's candidate and win a race that pundits thought would be an easy Republican win.
Republicans declared class warfare against the middle class. In this election, working families fought back -- and we are on the verge of winning.
Today, we are hosting a special briefing for those like you who have been part of our Wisconsin campaign -- featuring two “Wisconsin 14” leaders.
Democratic Senate leader Mark Miller and progressive rising star Chris Larson will talk about Tuesday's election and the big recall campaign ahead, plus take your questions. Click here to RSVP for today's briefing, which begins at 12pm Eastern.
Members of the Progressive Change Campaign Committee and Democracy for America made a whopping 96,945 phone calls to targeted voters through our “Call Out The Vote” program this past week. Together, we made the difference in this race!
Thanks for being part of this important fight. And for being a bold progressive.

It was a nail-biter all night long, as the most-watched state Supreme Court April 5 race went into the morning on April 6 with the final result still unclear.
The AP has the vote totals--50% for incumbent David Prosser and 50% for challenger JoAnne Kloppenburg--with Prosser ahead by 736,878 to 736,043, and some ballots remaining to be counted.
The race generated historic turnout in Madison and national news
coverage as it was widely seen as a referendum on Wisconsin Governor

Please explain to me how a progressive philanthropist can crush a Republican opponent in Wisconsin by a almost unheard of percentage but the vote for the Wisconsin Supreme court justice is being won by a conservative by a razor thin margin? This is BULLSHIT. How many times have we seen this happen? How many times in the last 10 years have we witnessed an election that seemed a no brainer progressive win being won by a "razor thin margin" by a conservative???? In 2000 it was the hanging chad issue. In 2004 Bush took some very democratic counties to achieve a statistically impossible win.

http://www.commondreams.org/views06/0601-34.htm
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address...
Then, not surprisingly, the guy who was suspected of rigging the election was killed in an odd plane crash a short time later. http://rawstory.com/news/2008/Killed_GOP_pilot_suspected_plane_had_1222.html
This is 100% election fraud. Hell, I'll call the winner right now, Prosser! I want to be wrong. I sincerely do. I pray to God I am wrong, but I don't suspect I am. This is part of an emerging electoral pattern. A nose to nose race to the finish and "Oohhhhhh it's the conservative by a nose!! Too bad for the progressives!!" Bullshit and double bullshit!!
Make no mistake about it, this is a extremely high stakes game and the big boys have decided not to lose. Again, I hope I am wrong. I WANT to be wrong, but this election is shaping up like all the critical elections over the last 10 years i.e. into a progressive loss.

Well it's just happened. Miraculously, Prosser has just found another 7500 votes!! "Its the conservatives by a nose!!"
As I indicated above, this is election fraud pure and simple. The big boys decided they weren't going to lose and they didn't. Oh, and don't expect any serious investigation into this either. Elections are now only for show to keep the masses duped into believing they still have a say in how the country is run.
Consequently, I have given up any hope for what used to be our democracy. We are an oligarchy, run by the rich for the rich. Because of this I am forced to renounce any loyalty to the ghost of what used to be the US government as it's populated by swine identical to those in Wisconsin; and it's become corrupted beyond any hope of orderly redemption. We are now officially on the road to revolution.

As I said earlier:
The trouble here is that there are still too many idiots who support what this asshole Walker is doing. He's protecting their wealth and not impacting any of the things they really care about. Part of his plan. Especially in Waukesha County (where I personally clean the houses of some of these pieces of work) are so died in the wool right-wingers that if there is any taint of Rep on the candidate's ass, they will vote for them. They still think he's doing their will. It's disgusting, I know. But us liberals and many formerly Republican voters have come out in force to try to stem the tide. Don't count Kloppenburg out yet. There's still more ballots to count. - 2 years ago

This Los Angeles Times article ran yesterday, but I'm posting it here just to let peeps know that news publications and journalists are making a lot of interpretations, based on what is going on in WI, about what is the national mood of our country's voters.
In addition, yesterday I heard a pundit on TV make a very, very good argument about WISCONSIN--normally very quiet and polite WISCONSIN--being the indicator on the mood of the voters. The question has been for months now: will the 2012 election be about the big issues (where people will draw a line in the sand, abandoning political party affiliation and politicians they've supported for years) or are voters going to just try to maintain the status quo.
This pundit believes--and I agree--that Wisconsin has made it clear: the 2012 election will be a BIG ISSUE election, and any politician who has bait-and-switched on their campaign promises is in for a rude awakening, special delivery from the voters.
The LATimes is usually very, very good for picking up subtleties, but not hitting the reader over the head with the info. In that way, they are old-school and, most of the time, don't turn a news pace into a soap-box/opinion piece. During the Kenneth Starr witch-hunt, the LATimes did incredibly in-depth articles practically every day, and there was a pay off for reading the article to the very end, because they would mention, often in passing, a crucial bit of information that would fly right past most readers, but for the researchers and political activists, it would be pure gold.

"Wisconsin's rallying cry: Throw the bums out"
In this once-tranquil state, activists are gathering signatures to trigger recall elections of 16 state senators – 8 Republicans and 8 Democrats. It's been political warfare since the union law's passage.
Nicholas Riccardi, Los Angeles Times
April 4, 2011
Reporting from La Crosse, Wisconsin
In Wisconsin, the new normal is perpetual political warfare.
Ever since a Republican governor and GOP-dominated Legislature pushed through a law to curtail the collective bargaining rights of most public employee unions, this normally get-along state has engaged in all-or-nothing partisan combat.
Activists are gathering signatures to trigger recall elections of 16 state senators — eight Republicans and eight Democrats. Analysts and political professionals in both parties agree that the Republicans are more threatened. Democrats could even retake the Senate if they oust three Republicans without losing any of their own seats.
The Republican Party has filed a public information request to obtain emails from a University of Wisconsin professor who has written critically about the conduct of Gov. Scott Walker. The GOP accuses Senate Democrats of abdicating their responsibilities by fleeing the state to try to prevent a vote.
Unions are threatening boycotts of businesses that don't display signs saying they support workers.
National groups are pouring money into a previously obscure state Supreme Court election set for Tuesday, in which the Republican incumbent is suddenly threatened by resurgent Democrats who believe that swinging the court majority to their party would give them an edge when Walker's law inevitably is challenged before the high court.
The state was abruptly flooded last week with ads supporting Justice David Prosser, a sign that conservatives fear he could lose. Even Sarah Palin entered the fray, urging Wisconsinites via Twitter to "please remember to vote for Justice Prosser on April 5.".......[article continues at URL, above]

Prosser in an unemployment line.
Difficult to believe this is so close after
all has been exposed about the consequences
of this election. - 2 years ago

Nothing has changed from where it wound up early this morning. Still 99% of the precincts counted, with Prosser up by the razor thin margin of 585 votes. As Yogi Berra would say, "It ain't over, til it's over." And the Milwaukee Journal predicts it will take most of the day to get the remaining ballots counted and the final ballot count established. This could still go either way, but by WI state law, it is almost a done deal that there will be a recount. The difference is .004% and a recount is automatically triggered by a .05% difference. It could take several days before we know the winner for sure. I will keep you posted as best as I can during the course of the day.

I wish. The nation should have exploded in 2000 there was so much evidence of vote rigging by the right. The problem is, the dems have never entered that fight and we suffer for it to this day

Here's the county to watch. Although I wouldn't stay up waiting. It's a heavily Democratic county with twelve precincts not reporting yet. I would say it doesn't look good for Prosser excluding absentee ballots. This race is a lot closer than I thought. Most people are somewhat apathetic in April races. But I believed the unions would have a very strong turnout. There's a very good chance of no declared winner and a recount.
Milwaukee 474/486 reporting
Prosser 95,129 - 43%
Kloppenburg 125,090 - 57%
