Relative to the amount of money which legislators create for industry, commerce and the wealthy, in subsidies, abatements, loopholes and tax havens, our congressmen must be the least costly WHORES in the world. They have been a very profitable investment for the corporatocracy.
According to author Nicholas Shaxson, the United States is one of the largest "tax havens" in the world. He cites that the tax evasion industry is at the heart and soul of all commerce and industry, and is destroying societies worldwide!

A guy named Bradly Birkenfeldt flew from Switzerland to the USA A couple of years ago with proof positive that 20 thousand of the richest Americans had been secreting HUGE amounts of cash into UBS/Warburg Bank... He went strait to jail and there were very few if any crimminal prosecutions of the tax dodgers...
He presented this proof positive to the IRS and Attorney General Holder and the thanks he got was A prison sentence..

I saw Elliot Spitzer with Matt Tahiibbi on CNN with Anderson Cooper yesterday...Spitzer challenged Eric Holder to either get some Wall Street prosecutions or resign.
I really like Elliot Spitzer and know him to be an honest man. I would vote for him in A New York second if he chose to run for president...

We have a huge "tax evasion industy" because of the complexity of the tax code. Rusia had the same problem years ago. They fixed it with a fixed tax and simplified the entire process. Wasn't worth evading. Receipts went up.
We have the tax code we have because Congress wants it that way. No other reason. We have a spending problem. You can raise taxes all you want but we can't tax our way out of our problem. Spending reductions must come into play. - 1 year ago
