Anderson Cooper Calls Out Fox News Host Sean Hannity

Speaking on his Monday show, Cooper stressed that he didn't want to start a "cheesy cable news feud," but simply wanted to correct a clip Hannity had shown in a special on liberal media bias that had been edited in what he called a "completely misleading way."
In the clip from Hannity's show, Cooper is shown calling the attacks on Joseph Wilson, the former Bush administration ambassador who set off the Valerie Plame scandal, "a victim of a Bush administration smear campaign." However, as Cooper showed, the clip had begun in the middle of a sentence. Cooper was actually saying that Wilson was claiming to be a victim of a smear campaign, not stating his own personal opinion.
"I try to choose my words very carefully and I don't like it when someone cuts around them to make it seem like I'm saying something I'm not," he said, adding that he hoped Hannity did not "knowingly, falsely edit something to make a point. After all, that would be biased."

Mr. Cooper will have to do a lot more than this to gain my respect. Calling out an ass clown is a MSM ploy. Start reporting real news and you can count on the respect of real people. I hear they're having a small flap in Wisconsin. Something about possible voter fraud. Maybe Mr. Cooper can check into that after covering the all important royal wedding.

Anderson Cooper is one of a very few actual investigative journalist on cable news, I think overall he does a pretty good job,, now on the other hand, Hannity is nothing but a far right talking head repeating talking points and using his shallow sarcasm to make a false and misleading point to stir up his faithful viewers into buying his mattresses, window shades and then he praises his version of jesus all the way to the bank.

Hannity's at it again. The president and his family attended the Baptist church in DC.Easter Sunday. Hannity showed a serman this preacher did making controveral statements. He compared him to Rev Wright. Only problem is he showed a video of something the preacher said about a year ago,, not Easter Sunday when the president was there.

What's more telling is that Hannity is still defending the Bush administration.
Make no mistake, Republicans have only disenfranchised him out of convenience. In secret, they're still rocking his cock like they always were.
And if they aren't, it's because he wasn't "conservative" enough for them.

Amen to that. CNN is just as much a part of the noise machine as Faux News... and they, all too often, find themselves being lead around by the nose by Faux News. Faux slants the news, outright lies, makes some bloggers ridiculous assertions into "news" and the next thing you know all the major networks, including CNN are all reporting on it like it's some major story... next thing you know, the lie is on everyone's lips and the lie goes mainstream with half of America believing it... when all it was, was some trumped up bullsh*t fed into the stream by Faux News to begin with.
If CNN and the other channels would simply ignore Faux News rather than reporting on the lies and bullsh*t Faux reports then we wouldn't have to contend with such fucktards like Michelle Bachmann and Sarah Palin... IGNORE the bastards... let the crazies spend their time watching while the rest of us deal with the REAL world and the REAL news.

When Beck is gone Sean Hannity will be the worst person on TV. The few times I have watched him, no matter what the president does he puts him down. Durning the campaign all I heard was Rev Wright. After Obama became president all I heard was Rev. Wright. I'm glad AC called him on editing the tape.

AC is one of the few journalists on TV today. Faux News insists on fabricating stories on a daily basis. There is an old adage about not swinging at a pitch in the dirt, but when EVERY pitch is aimed at your head you need to defend yourself--and the truth.

Is anyone tired of the news media becoming the news going after each other? Both sides should represent news clips properly and stop sniping at each other. If anyone responds to my post have something more than a negative comment on Fox. This is a general practice of the news media on both sides.

Of course it's annoying to have the newscasters become the news, but I'm sorry to tell you Fox doesn't qualify as news media. Anderson was deliberately misrepresented by Hannity. How do you suggest he respond? By ignoring him? Hannity impugned his integrity; something his livelihood is based on. Since we no longer call each other out on the field of honor, I see no other recourse left him.

Warren_Merrill:
Sean Hannity is not news. He is not advertised as news, even on Faux. He is opinion journalism. Therefore, the sniping back and forth is not based on Sean's "news" but rather his opinion, and in this case, his lying by cutting the soundbites to suit his argument. Anderson Cooper had every right to call him out as Sean's splicing and misrepresentation was directly related to Anderson Cooper.
On the other hand, even Faux's so called "news" is hardly any better than what Sean Hannity did. It all is slanted to push their agenda. The other legit news stations find themselves retorting, regularly, because Faux is so blatantly lying even in their "news" segments. In addition, other stations, MSNBC, for example, also has somewhat of an agenda... although far more balanced that Faux "news" and so they have a personal beef with Faux...
That said, sure, i'd like to see everyone just ignore Faux and let them (Faux) argue with their own echo.

The thing is, Hannity will merely ignore Anderson's calling him out and just lay it on thicker. That is what the right does... they double down. There is no arguing with these crazies... they are their own separate breed. Lying comes naturally to them and those who follow them are not open to the truth because it is muffled by the colon wall surrounding their heads.

Good on Mr Cooper. Fox "News" *should* be called out on every lie and knowing misrepresentation they make. And somebody at Fox "News" *had* to know the way this is used, is misleading. In order to simply find the clip, someone there had to see what came before and immediately after the snippet they used.
Fox "News" is repulsive.
