The James Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation law requires that 9/11 first responders clear the FBI's terrorism watch list

Should the First Responders have waited for word from the FBI that the Responders would only be rescuing Americans prior to them going in on 9/11?

Some of the firefighters and police officers are Muslims......the ones that lived through it anyway. I know that for a fact after watching dozens and dozens of video interviews about 9-11.

I hope if one if them is rejected there will be hell to pay and I hope this slimey congressman and whoever voted for that sick amendment get roasted over the coals for it.

It's been SO long since 9-11. I'd imagine that anyone in need of health care form that event is probably already close to death. This delay is inhuman and unforgivable.

Didn't hear about this until Jon Stewart screamed about this during his show. As if they didn't suffer enough. now these brave men have to be screened to make sure they're not a terrorist. This Republican is a shithead!

What blows me away is that someone on the "Terrorist Watch List" can still get a gun. But the brave First Responders who are sick and dying after they went into the fallen World's Trade Centre to save people after the worst US terrorist attack on US soil have to prove they aren't a terrorist. Shame on all the Congressmen and Senators that allowed this amendment to remain in the bill.

I think that it is a shame that the only person talking about this disgrace is Jon Stewart. The ones who were good enough for flag-waving photo-ops in the aftermath of 9/11 are now inconvenient issues for the pols to deal with. They can go to hell, whether it is Stearns who brought up the amendment in the first place or Waxman for quickly rubber-stamping it.

If we ever have another attack like this again, who would want to risk their health by going in like these first responders did. We need to round up all the people like Stearns and say, you are going in.
