This is part of the new world order. The ultimate rethuglican plan is to privatize every government function or kill it (Medicare). Once everything sale-able has been sold, we will all just be resources; used as needed by corporations. The hollowed out government will simply be a conduit for our tax money to those same corporations. Think this is far fetched? Read Naomi Klein's "The Shock Doctrine". This has all been done before.

We pay private prisons 11 million dollars per month out here and GED Jan was looking to increase that a ton with the passage of SB1070. Amazingly enough - the same company getting that cash also dumped quite a chunk of change into her campaign fund. Not to mention her two top aides were either on the payroll or had spouses that were/are on the payroll for them back then and now. Nice!

This is so true, and many of the immigrants in these for profit prisons have no family, no way to contact family if they do have them, and are lost in a system that never sets a court date for them. It is yet another of the dirty little secrets our country uses to profit from the powerless.
