Dozens protest use of police force in Albuquerque

On Tuesday, APD Officer Sean Wallace shot and killed a man during a standoff. It's the 17th police-involved shooting in just 17 months. On Friday, protestors gathered at APD Headquarters in downtown Albuquerque demonstrating against the use of deadly force. The family of Alan Gomez says they want their message heard and that change needs to happen. Dozens of protestors of all ages carried signs and some even brought drums.

Michael Gomez talks to the crowd through a bullhorn. He says, "They're supposed to protect us. They're not supposed to kill us." His son Alan Gomez was killed Tuesday. Police thought he was armed, but it turns out he was carrying only a large, black spoon. Gomez continues on the bullhorn. "They have Tasers. They have other ways to bring people down, not to take people's lives."
