See perception is everything. And if you give the media more than they need to work with...it's a bad thing. Then they'll (the media) will have to opportunity to paint you as some kind of kook.
Remember Howard Dean's enthusiastic yell, heard around the world? He just never recovered. I mean, sure the Democrats made him president of the party...but that's soooooo mu8ch different than being President of the United States.
He already has gone just short of saying he is a sex addict...and that's an issue Weiner will have to deal with if he chooses to remain in office and run for re-election.

Let me see, we have at least two genocidal, homicidal, lying, treasonous Prez and Vice Prez who were allowed to complete their terms in office and are NOT in prison where they belong, but running free..This administration's total existence as far as being officially within American Constitutional Law was A crime in itself, in the shady two {2} elections and the TWO {2} illegally manufactured wars it created out of lies and deception. The damage that said Administration did to our country is complete and beyond redemption, resembling A train wreck with lots of casualties and many more to come...Now what is this about one effective, fight for our Liberty and Justice Representative named Anthony Weiner...How PETTY....

I guess it amount to whether or not there is a *morals clause*, either implied or inferred by Rep. Weiner accepting th job as US House of Representative. And whether he has violated any such clause...then it gets a bit harder to say: "Go mind your own fucking business."

But when have you seen a Tea Bagger, or GOP republican admit wrong doing, mistakes, or even that they just forgot the lines of a children's poem by Longfellow.
I know this is fluff. It's not terribly important in the grand scheme of things, but it has a significance.
Remember that long, long, long, long drawn out lie about Weapons of Mass Destruction?
It's just a bit refreshing to see a man say I fucked up. I was frightened, and I lied...now here's the truth.
And there's the question of: "Rep Weiner, were you fully erect?"

In the past two hours I have heard the Wiener story dissected at least 10 times on Fox. I guess there is nothing else to talk about. The anchors are going so far as to say "He won't resign. It's news because two days ago..he inferred that he hadn't done any thing suspect and circumspect. Today he admitted he lied.
Now I don't know about you, but can you remember the last time a GOP politician admitted he lied?
I didn't post this as earth-shaking, widow rattling news. I posted it because of the following:
1. He came clean. He should have done so in the beginning, but he didn't.
2. It's really important that people get the message to NEVER send provocative pictures over the internet, through the US Mails, or allow yourself to be photographed in any sexually compromising way.
3. I like the fact that he didn't ask for forgiveness, because he knows he isn't entitled to it.
4.He didn't blame the media of going on a witch hunt.
Now...had he not acted like a 12 year old and playing his internet version of *stink-finger*,... or you show me yours, and I'll show you mine...this wouldn't have been a worry for him.
But it is newsworthy. Will it change someone's life...I dunno...I hope some idiot teenager looks at this and realizes this sex-texting, sex-emailing, video-photo crap develops a life of its own, and once an image, photograph, or letter or email leaves your computer or your hands...you have no control over it.
Suspect everyone to lie to you.
If some dame or some Lothario says to you: "Baby, you know I love you..and there's no one else like you, and I wouldn't dream of using this photo, text, email, letter, etc...to hurt you....RUN!!! RUN...as fast, and as far as you possibly can. Pretend it's a biblical moment and that you're Lot's wife...and you'll turn into a pillar of salt if you look back.
RUN, dammit....and keep right on running. Some people can't hear this often enough. Even though you can't idiot proof the world...you don't stop ringing the warning bells.
Now that's my reason reason for posting this. It's a Public Service Announcement.

I don't know very much about his Congressional record. I posted the video because I was impressed by his handling of this. It is sad that he fell stupid to such dalliances. I think he said it best;.he has no one to blame but himself. I will watch to see how he further handles this.
One interesting thing to note...he hasn't blamed the media for his debacle. And the media who first BROKE the story was MSNBC. So much for the FOX news practice of shielding its political party patsies.

He will have blisters on his lips kissing her rear for a good time to come. You can not divorce in New York unless there is FAULT. And he had a lot more to lose than his Congressional seat. It's really a sad pathos to an otherwise prosperous political career.

Okay, fair enough.
Now in the art of transparency and fairness, let's see if we...you and I...can come to an agreement in what a suitable punishment for lying to the American Public, to deceive it in to going in to war over Weapons of Mass Destruction which George W. Bush knew was not there, okay? What punishment would you apply for the deaths and casualty injuries of the young men and women lost or injured in the Iraq War. You remember that war, right. The one where George W. Bush jumped on to an aircraft carrier under a banner labeled: "MISSION ACCOMPLISHED" Would you say Criminal or Civil Penalties apply? What value would you access to these crimes?
And while we are at it and settling up debts...let's see what civil penalty we can assess to Sarah Palin for her management of the "Bridge to No where", (otherwise known as The Gravina Island Bridge. I believe the American public ate those costs to the tune of...what was it?? $398 million...right? $398 million US Dollars of publicly mismanaged funds for a bridge that was never completed.
But let's not stop, this is soooo much fun...let's settle all debts....let's explore Kenneth Lay and ENRON. What was that worth? Lay has been accused of selling over $70 million worth of stock, which he used to repay cash advances on lines of credit. He sold another $20 million worth of stock in the open market. Also, Lay's wife, Linda, has been accused of selling 500,000 shares of Enron stock totaling $1.2 million on November 28, 2001. Oh but Kenneth Lay died...or did he? Lay's death has given rise to various conspiracy theories claiming he is still alive.
And there's Dick Cheney.....he's a fella who gives you a warm and fuzzy all over feeling, don't he? You'd hug him if that gun wouldn't get in the way. Say...who was ever charged in that drunken shooting of the face of his dear friend?
Halliburton....Halliburton, ...Halliburton....good God we could be here all afternoon if we were to open that particular can of worms.
So how's life over there in that GOP glass house in which you live? I'm sure there are people who feel wronged by you, too...right?
You get my point? If not...then it's just best I waste no more time with you. Anyone who is that obtuse will never quite understand!

This explains your bitterness.
You've been voting and voting, and voting, and voting for your party's representative ...( I'm it's guessing some version of either Ron Paul or Ross Perot, or Ralph Nader type of Libertarianism) and yet you have yet to vote for a winner. It's gotta be like going to the racetrack and always betting on a nag horse with a club foot. You bet (vote...out of habit) and know each and every time you'll never feel that your choice has any value.
Now that may be important or unimportant to you, I dunno...(shrugs)...but if you're consistently backing losers...then what does that really say about your ability to make choices...wise choices?
Look...I agree that Weiner shouldn't have acted like 12 year old prepubescent boy. He should have never put himself in the position to he found himself in. I think that if you explore this thread...you might have noticed where I said that. More than once.
I think Weiner abused his position. I think Weiner abused his wife's trust.
That said...he didn't cause the death of thousands of young men and some women. He never caused the injury of thousands of young men and some women. He doesn't seem to have caused the misuse of millions of dollars in government funds...(that may change as developments arise in this Weiner debacle)...to send his Halliburton buddy contracts to make millions of dollars. He sent a text and a tweet to a woman. Maybe he sent it to a coupla of women. He did not shoot someone in the head, while in a drunken stupor. He hasn't been shown to have lead this nation in a war to supplement a Halliburton....(nothing in his Congressional voting record suggests that he has done that)....so all things considered....if his State of New York constituents can live with his prior Congressional voting record, I say let the man do his job. If those constituents are willing to re-elect him next fall based on that voting record, then swear him in on January 20th of 2013
He has apologized for his behavior.
The only amends he needs to make are to his wife...a woman that neither YOU nor I are fucking. If she finds some way to reconcile this...it seems to be her business.
You want a Democratic pound of flesh that isn't yours to have...you aren't the wife...you aren't fucking Huma Weiner, and you didn't fuck over Huma Weiner....that pound of flesh belongs to Huma Weiner.
You got an apology. Deal with it.

While I agree with your sentiment on Bush, it should be noted for the historical accuracy that your party voted overwhelmingly in support of Bush's overseas policies to include multiple funding bills and authorizations. Also, it should be noted that much of Bush's military management and intelligence team were picked up for the same, or similar jobs, in the Obama administration. Bush lies caused people's deaths. Repub and Dem votes caused people's deaths.

There was a larger longer interview and Rep. Weiner said there are still some facts of law that will eventually determine whether or not he will get to keep his Congressional seat. It has to do with where he was when he sent the pictures...(I guess if he did it on company time and on the taxpayers dime)...it could have a significant effect on whether he gets to keep his seat. I don't think it falls under an impeachable offense...but we'll have to wait and see what the New York State Constitution has to say about this.
