Secret underground city in Beijing

This city really exist. It a network of tunnels that were built at the height of nuclear paranoia in the 1970s. this “underground city” had to cover about 80 square kilometers and it must be able to cover thousands civilians under tensions of Soviet Russia.
The idea was that inhabitants could go underground during several minutes in case of attack and stay there safely for weeks if necessary.
Since 2007 tunnels became a tourist attraction. There is a huge space under Beijing and many places are well forgotten. Researchers try to find new tunnels and rooms. One door had a note pinned on: “Closed until further notice.”
Greg Savarese tells: “We searched for ages and eventually found some soldiers who unlocked a door and took us below ground -- we walked for about an hour and saw a school, a hospital, street signs on the walls -- even a movie theater.”
Who know what else can be hidden under Beijing…
