Please forgive me I still get emotional, but that time is burned into my soul, and it still grieves me to see those scenes, like so many others.

I will never forget this day. We were called to come to NYC, and on September 12-15th, 2001 we got on the train to the city The NYPD met us and gave us a ride to the Jarvis Center where an aid station was being set up for us. As soon as we were ready, firefighters and construction workers started flowing in. We gave first aid and sent those in rougher shape to the nearest hospital. One construction worker who had so much debris in his eyes he couldn't cry anymore. His descriptions of the hell at Ground Zero was staggering. Those men are etched in my mind forever, as we all did everything we could. It was a sad day,but we were pulling together. We even had 5 crews come all the way from the Sioux Nation with us. People from the city were coming up to us offering food, water, clean clothes for the guys coming in who were contaminated, first aid supplies, and any and everything they could think of to help. Never tell me New Yorkers don't care. I have never seen the like, and probably never will again. We were offered rooms at the Roosevelt if we wanted them, and all day long, everybody was thanking and blessing us, calling us heroes. I don't feel like a hero, just call me a good American and leave it at that. I am proud of the way we were working together and it proves we are at our best when we are working together.

It doesn't prove you are the best, it proves that you reacted the way humans react all over the world when faced with this kind of catastrophe and even worse ones. You ought to read about the Blitz in London, for example.

Sorry but when you enlist you are obligated to obey orders through the chain of command. And as harsh as it might be, only in extreme cases might it be even possible to start a case like that. Look at Pat Tillman, His family cannot do anything. And it is unfortunate that military people die in training accidents all the time, death is just a part of the job description, whether under Bush, Clinton or Obama.

Them people was old, man. They couldn't see those chads.
(grumbles)
Folks never let ya forget a mistake...just hang one chad wrong...and you never hear the end of it.
(grumbles)
All the time always picking on the elderly.....it was a tiny chad, man. You would have needed a microscope to see that thing.
I say put the blame on that damn Electoral College. What good is a college education if ya can't count up and tally the votes right? Gore won by 56% of the popular vote....stop picking on the elderly.

Not that any of this surprises me or is new to me but hearing it from Lawrence Wilkerson only solidifies my belief all along that the war in Iraq was totally choreographed for the purposes of Bush/Cheney. As for my feelings on 9/11, I never believed the official story. The sad part is there are people til this day who still think Iraq/Hussein had something to do with 9/11.

I agree. I was against the Iraq war from the beginning. I'm anti-war anyway. The Iraq war was a big lie and it was/is an illegal and immoral war, like all war is. I know that being anti-war at the time was not good. I had my anti-war and anti-Bush bumper stickers on my car and I took alot of grief for it.
"We think that military intervention would be the worst possible solution,"
That turned out to be true.

You'll figure it out when you realize that 9/11 was a staged event. Its an important fact the weak-minded need to wrap their heads around.

no sir, Ignorance: "The lack of knowledge, education, and awareness." They are never given the knowledge. Stupidity is a person that is given the knowledge and either doesn't do anything with it or chooses to ignore it (being blind)

A Brookings' study of media dynamics in the late 60's indicated that 80% of public opinion could be turned 180 degrees by three 60 minute broadcasts on the three major networks over a 5 day period. Today's more sophisticated audience would probably require a fifteen minute "fair and balanced" report from Rupert and Roger's Faux Menza Meeting

Any person living in America now that has half a brain and has followed any reputable news source knows that Bush and Cheney are the worst things that happened to America (aside from 9/11) since Columbus sailed the ocean blue in1492.
