"You'd be dead," she told him.
Regardless of his professional future, it's Weiner's predicament at home that seems to be launching countless discussions among couples like the Austins. And this time, it's not a question of actual physical cheating - a la Eliot Spitzer and his prostitution scandal - but the murkier backdrop of Internet relationships: sexting, tweeting lewd photos, emailing.
If it's virtual, does it constitute infidelity? Many Americans seem to think it does.

Each couple establishes their own boundaries, and if one of them violates those boundaries it is between the couple to decide how to address it within the context of their relationship. Weiner may have violated the trust of his wife by sexting these women but clearly he had no intention of having his private business exposed to the world. His mistake was to put his trust in the false security of a social media service like Twitter. The true menace in this situation is Breitbart. If Weiner had taken photos of himself and sent them through the U.S. Mail, and Breitbart had obtained them from a mailbox and published them, he would be brought up on federal charges. So what makes private electronic communications fair game? IMO it's because privacy laws are failing to keep up with technology. There are probably thousands of people who are doing the same thing that Weiner did, the only difference is that he is a congressman so he commands more shock value in the press than the average dope next door.

If we apply the same principle to anyone who sends sexting messages the population of that crowd being marked as sex offenders will grow exponentially!
Oh wait. We ARE doing it to an entire generation of young people to who do not see it as a moral dilemma or being sexually perverted to share a picture of themselves with others! The youth of today who do not see it as an offense against society are being arrested and charged with distributing pornography.
Sexting will be on par with rapists before they're through with the enforcement of puirtan-based morality laws they are attempting to enact.
But perhaps they see it as an opportunity of a lifetime to have such a labor force pool to draw from to do their bidding for pennies paid per perpetrator prison population.
New World Order of Slavery has many faces and means by which to utilize to their advantage. Like college graduates who are in hock up to their eyeballs that will have next to impossible opportunites to repay their student loans, thereby being another source of indentured servants for the Corporate Masters to manipulate.
C. M. Kornbluth's 'The Marching Morons', or H.G. Wells' Eloi and Morlochs come to mind with what could be coming to fruitition.
And they said it couldn't be done!

My wife would consider it cheating. If my wife sent nake pix of herself to another man, I'd consider it cheating.
It's cheating. It's dishonest, it's disgusting.
That dick Weiner has a beautiful new wife who has now been publicly shamed. Shame on him for making her go through this, he deserves to have his dick cut off.

Rethuglicans still make fun of Jimmy Carter's "I have lust in my heart" confession.
"Because I'm just human and I'm tempted and Christ set some almost impossible standards for us. The Bible says, "Thou shalt not commit adultery." Christ said, I tell you that anyone who looks on a woman with lust has in his heart already committed adultery. I've looked on a lot of women with lust. I've committed adultery in my heart many times.... This is something that God recognizes, that I will do and have done, and God forgives me for it. But that doesn't mean that I condemn someone who not only looks on a woman with lust but who leaves his wife and shacks up with somebody out of wedlock. Christ says, don't consider yourself better than someone else because one guy screws a whole bunch of women while the other guy is loyal to his wife. The guy who's loyal to his wife ought not to be condescending or proud because of the relative degree of sinfulness." - Jimmy Carter
He wouldn't last a nanosecond if he were President today. They would gather some boards and nails to crucify him before the Sun set.
Hypocrites, thy name is Republican Party! With many weak-kneed Democrats thrown in for good measure.
They pick and choose which verses from their "Book" they want to follow and overlook others. Like the one that condemns those who judge others, especially when many of them have done far worse.
Vitter.
Gingrich.
Ensign.
Sanford.
Giuliani.
McCain. And three of them ran for the Office of President AFTER it was known to the public they committed adultery.
To be fair...
Edwards.
Spitzer.Edwards ran for the Office of President BEFORE it became known by the public he committed adultery.
Clinton.
He WAS President when it became known he committed adultery.
I don't want to go any farther back in time or I'll be typing for the next few hours, since one can go back to John F. Kennedy, Strom Thurmond and all the way back to Thomas Jefferson!
I don't know how Weiner could possibly fit in with any of these men. Intertube sexting? Duh!
If the punishment fits the crime and Weiner is forced out of Office, Viiter ought to pay far more for his transgression. No Statute of Limitations.
Or if we have forgiven him, we must forgive Weiner now.
I have an idea! Let's leave it up to Weiner's constituents!
What's the 'latest" with Arnold? Has he dropped off the Republican's Reviled Radar Screen already?

Of course we are hypocritical prudes, and we have been for hundreds of years. Regarding sex, we have our unwritten version of Sharia law. We also have a modern day version of the Inquisition, just look at the daytime programming content. There are shows with morons accusing each other of infidelity, endless "Operas of Soap" with their themes of infidelity and murder, polygraph tests, DNA tests, and if the results instigate a fight, so much the better. With this constant barrage do you think people will have an objective view of sex? I certainly don't.

Sen. Vitter's Diaper Fetish and Another Republican Caught Solicting Sex...From a Man in a Toilet
This post, written by Howie Klien, originally appeared on Down With Tyranny! This Vitter thing just doesn't want to go away. One of the Madams he was working with to procure women for him says he should be prosecuted (it is true that what he was doing actually is a crime) while another Madam says he "wasn't doing anything out of the ordinary" with her girls over the years (except that he was into a diaper fetish, just like Holy Joe).

I believe it is up to those he represents to make the judgement call whether they want him to remain in office or not. He works for them. They pay his salary.
With that said, he does have "co-workers" in the HOR. They can make it a Living Hell for him if he shows up at the "jobsite". They can play their "games" and not have any "work" assigned to him. All he would be permitted to do is cast a vote, especially if they censure him.
Now, I don't know how strong your constitutional fortitude is, but I think I would find it unbearable to have to go through that on a daily basis with colleagues.
I'm thankful my parents explained to me how sometimes life isn't fair.

Republicans call it the "No Sin Zone". Their perception of what constitutes marriage and sex is not up for debate. It's black and white...except for those two colors getting it on, of course!
And they all know what will happen to you if you disagree with them. You're going to Hell in a double-handled handbasket pronto!

Cheating is a ridiculous concept because the whole heterosexual monogamous dialectic is completely unsustainable. If this were not true, more than 60% of marriages wouldn't end up in divorce. Our society is finally moving towards plural marriage and open marriages that will include the full spectrum of human sexual experience from heterosexual, homosexual, bisexual, transgendered, and everything in between.
Cheating is a tantalizing temptation that everyone indulges in in some way or another and people make entirely too much about it, especially phone sex, sexting and internet video sex...which is harmless fun.

Exactly. This constant fascination with sex reduces morality to a pinpoint.
Great video post.
What's really sad is that Weiner's tactics would probably pass muster in most business and legal settings. Outrageous points of view are constantly supported by simulations of facts that are laughably divorced from reality. Fraud is a kind of hypnosis.

NAH,it's different strokes for different folks,it's the punishment when you get caught that puts you on a level playing field. That's like couples who are into swapping to a certain extent, they don't look at it as infidelity. He SAYS his wife was aware of his interest, too each his own.I'm ready for the next blockbuster and there will definitely be more on another public figure, like the energizer bunny, they just keep coming and coming and coming.

Cheating is not based on activity, it is based on trust within the relationship.
If you promise your spouse that you will never eat a doughnut, and you do so anyway, and then lie to your spouse about it, it's cheating.
If you spouse thinks it's OK for you to have sex with your personal assistant, and you do, and you are completely honest about it, then it's OK.
It is about trust and honesty the "contract" established in the relationship, not what activity is done.
It is the same as a relationship between a boss and employee- If you have a restaurant chain, and your head chef is seen eating in your main competitor's restaurant, that is a breach of that trust.
If your chef has sex with his married next door neighbor, it is not a breach of that trust.

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa?
WTF?
Are you serious? I would call that "casing out the competition" at the most! Ever heard of the Constitution? Freedom of where one wishes to eat? Now, I would see your 'point' if the chef was COOKING in the competitor's kitchen. But I'd draw the line right there. Not one tittle before or after that.

Wow, you overreacted right there.
Yes, my chef example was not a good one.
Here is a beter one- if your employee is a graphic designer who creates your advertising, and you find out he has been doing ads for your competitor on the sly, durring office hours, using your graphics workstation and graphics software.
The whole point is that if your employee has sex with someone, that is none of your business, and not grounds for firing.
How is that?

Ooops! I didn't mean for my reply to sound so...mean. I was making a funny about Rand Paul, though, and how he professes to be a Libertarian and yet he's against freedom to listen to someone use that other freedom called speech and I used your chef example as a springboard.
And I do see where there would be an issue with an employee providing any conceptual property or labor that would be in direct conflict with the employer's. Such as music, writing, ideas or anything produced by one's hands.
My apologies.
