July 2011 is getting closer. It is the time that US forces will begin to be drawn down from Afghanistan. That timetable was given by Barack Obama before Osama bin Laden met his demise. And if the mission is still to 'disrupt, dismantle and defeat al-Qaeda', it would appear that our job is done. I should have heeded the warning signs the moment I saw it in the lot: it was canary yellow. The engine and the transmissions were replaced, and a host of other 'minor' things. I then painted the car red. It was still a lemon. The failure was not dumping the car as soon as the transmission died. And the cost would have been greatly reduced.
