Libya’s foreign minister Abdulati Alobidi, has condemned recent NATO strikes on Tripoli, and added that the alliance’s bombing of civilian targets should be regarded as a “call for all free people of the world and for all Muslims to initiate a global jihad against the oppressive, criminal West.”

The world hates us because for decades we have propped up half the dictators across the world and put down popular uprisings and democracy because it was in the best interest of corporations to be able to pull puppet string in other countries. Now we change directions and support the peoples uprising and desire for democracy against tyranny, and people squeal. I'm no war monger, believe me, but where were the anti war drums when we invaded Iraq with boots on the ground.

Just because you think people didn't care as much when bush did it does not make it ok for Obama to do it. He just spent hundreds of millions of dollars on our new war in Libya with out even asking the country if its what we wanted to do. Bush was a total ass hole for the same reason... but he did have 9/11 to help with his policies.. We should not forgive Obama's war crimes just because Bush got away with his.

We have not switched directions to support democracy. That is a huge media propaganda lie. We are only supporting certain uprisings and ignoring the others. Obama just had the Crown Prince of Bahrain over at the white house for lunch not 2 weeks ago.

Economically, were not prepared to alienate our key oil interests. We still have to play nice politics to try and get the price of oil down.

I don't support war any more than you do. The point of my comment were two things:

      1. Hatred of the US began many years ago when we began a policy of propping up any dictator who would benefit our corporate interests. This has been going on since the end of WWII, and some behind the scenes before then.

      2. Obama had the trifecta of bad situations handed to him when he took office, and it's only gotten more complicated since then. He started off with the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression, a population that was maxed out on debt, and two wars that put us so far underwater on the national debt that his enemies would immediately start blaming him. All I'm saying is give the guy a break. With all of that he's still managed to do more than any president in history: http://current.com/http://www.opednews.com/articles/A-Case-For-Obama-s-Accompl-b...
I think he's had a very bad situation to deal with, and deserves a little credit.
