You can believe in an all powerful Sky Daddy. No one is saying that you can't. What people are saying is that you shouldn't shove your particular religion down other people's throats. Nor should you fall/hide behind Abrahamic doctrine when it suits your needs.

The Bible contradicts itself in more ways than one. It has been translated and interpreted countless times since its creation. Man is fallible. Man wrote the book. Sure, some ideas in the Bible are good and necessary. Other ideas? Not so much.

When nature decides to be scary, it's not because some Sky Daddy was mad at humans. If said Sky Daddy was mad at humanity, I'm pretty sure He/She/It/Flying Spaghetti Monster wouldn't have "allowed" billions of people, that believe in different things, to live. that is so true ! I read it many times as a kid , and THAT it what turned me away from this cruel hateful belief system . This is why they have bible study in groups with leaders . It cannot survive a solo reading ... without the horror setting in , or a massive case of denial .

Dear gravity man , I have lyme too . It can be cured . Difficult , yes , impossible , no at all . A good Chinese acupuncturist /herbalist can help a lot , combined with other herbs , just do some research . Lots of people have gotten rid of it . I am well on my way , myself . I knew something was going on with you . Good luck . Ask your god to tell you where to find help .

Actually , energy , though it exists , does not have to be a deity . It can just be "the force" or "life" . I played a game with the bible once , i just substituted the concept of life , for god .
