As an Oregonian I must say I'm Proud as for not being a Republican well I find him lets just say Republican.

EUGENE, Ore. -- Mark Callahan has ran for state legislature, county commissioner and for the school board. Though he has lost all of those bids, the election hopeful is setting his sights for the White House.

Callahan's name has become familiar for many folks in town for the numerous times he's ran for positions in local races and lost. But Callahan says failure just isn't in his vocabulary and wants to give running for president a shot.

He's a registered Republican candidate and has a website he's using to raise funds for his campaign. Callahan says he knows many people doubt him based on his prior track record, but he says it's been a long-term goal to run for president. Callahan says he takes his campaign seriously despite the odds stacking heavily against his favor.

"I haven't been elected but I think I can better relate to the people that are voting because I keep on trying, I keep on trying," said Callahan.

Callahan says he's looks up to former presidents like Abraham Lincoln who also lost elections before becoming the president.

Callahan says right now he's focused on raising enough money to travel to campaign hot spots like Iowa and New Hampshire.
He even planning on trying to get into a debate being held in Las Vegas.

"Why I am running for President of the United States in 2012
      3 Committments "

-Commitments Makes this one a few times

"Being from the severely over-regulated State of Oregon, where unemployment is among the highest in the nation, I believe that it is the responsibility of the Federal Goverment to provide the regulatory environment conducive to job creation, not contrary/restrictive to it"

      -Government.

"From my own knowledge of economics, printing more money, or doing the "highly spun" action of what is referred to as "Quantitative Easing" is not the solution going foward. "
      -forward

Just a couple I decided to post. The point is not the spelling but the content, I myself would be lost without spell check. However it is a simple feature, and prior to that we had someone else edit our work for grammatical and spelling errors. Maybe my spell check is wrong.

The point is not the spelling but the content and his content is really not much different they what we already have running. I just don't find he has anything new to offer, that he would have a chance. However I admire his courage to get up and do something so for that I applaud him

    • Well, well, it's not often I see my home town in the news. Why does it have to be this nonsense. Oh well, I guess given the bright stars in the running, he probably has a fair chance of taking the primary, LOL.

Yes I give him credit for trying, though I love my state I would not vote for him even if he is local lol. He sounds no different in his ideas than the current field of Republicans

Been looking through his campaign site and yea, it really doesn't seem to me as of yet he has an original idea even, some of it reads like a FoxNews Interview, it's like a form lettter
      " I (insert name)
      talking point,
      talking point,
      insult at democrat,
      talking point,
      misquote history,
      talking point,
bash media for taking you out of context,
Thanks for your support God Bless America"

I just copied and pasted his entire The Issues page to a text document, first and foremost, he doesn't know how to use spell check? I'm thinking I'm going to go issue to issue and rebut each thing, just for laughs and giggles. Maybe I'll send it to him when I'm done, show him the facts of the talking points that he hasn't checked himself and is just being a parrot. who knows lol

I'm not the person to do that, I have problems getting my thoughts down in writing, I can't articulate things well. Part of the reason why now almost 32 I'm finally thinking about going to college.

I appreciate that, thought getting down a paragraph and the length it takes me to get that is far from what I view of what my ability should be and to further my thoughts to a wider audience I want to get back to school. Part of which I will admit is medical and the other I just need to further my education
