President Obama assassinated according to hacked Fox News Twitter

Earlier today the Fox News Politics Twitter account was hacked and a number of Tweets claiming that President Obama had been assassinated were sent out.

Fox has acknowledged the hack, but apparently they still can't access the account— as this blog post was published the Tweets still haden't been taken down.

It's looking like Fox News Politics Twitter account was hacked early Monday by a group vaguely aligned with Anonymous, calling itself "TheScriptKiddies" ("Script kiddies" is a negative term for wannabe hackers, one can only assume they were trying to reclaim the term).

According to The Huffington Post, the hackers initially changed Fox's Twitter icon to what's apparently their logo and claimed responsibility for the hack.

The group seems to have decided to have a different kind of fun a few hours after the initial attack, reverting the account icon, and Tweeting that the President had been assassinated on the 4th of July i.e America's Independence Day.

Fox News has released a statement saying that it "regrets any distress the false tweets may have created." As Fox battles to try and regain control over their Twitter account and delete the assignation tweets  TheScriptKiddies' Twitter account appears to be suspended.
