Not one in 1,000 Americans knows this story. but it's absolutely true that the US imported thousands of Nazi criminals after World War II. But this is by no means the whole story or even the real one. Two major flaws in the story:
1. The US and Soviets were allies during World War II. We knew more about the details of Soviet military power than the Nazis did because we helped build the Soviet war machine (and with our help they were even more productive in turning out war materials than we were.) We were not "desperate" for Nazi intelligence on the Soviets.
2. The real reason for importing so many Nazis after the war was to keep a lid on the close alliance the Rockefeller, DuPont, Harriman, Bush families etc. had with the Nazis before, during, and after World War II.
Allen Dulles, who ran the Nazi importation program and helped keep it covered up, was, along with his brother John Foster Dulles, a lead attorney for the Rockefellers, DuPonts, Harrimans et. al.
German General Gehlen was a criminal, but only a minor player in the real story. The idea that he somehow "controlled" the CIA is total bullshit. He did exactly what Allen Dulles wanted him to do and would have been dead the second he stopped playing.
Just remember, "national security" is code for covering for the real story which is that several of America's most powerful families funded and supported the Nazis before, during and after the war because they saw it as a good way to make money and they continue to engage in similar enterprises to this day.
