Oklahoma Senator Fights for the Right to be a Bad Pilot

Image
Senator James Inhofe would like to preserve his right to be an incompetent pilot. After landing on a closed airstrip and nearly hitting ground workers, Inhofe was asked to take remedial piloting lessons. Luckily he can abuse his legislative power to make the rules easier for old, incompetent. rich people that want to continue to fly. Thank goodness we have champions like him taking on the big issues that affect suffering Americans.

    • BrushWithDeathTooth Lies! It's amzaing how people on this site make extremely slanted posts yet have the gall ot criticize other media sources. And now for the truth.

Senator Inhofe took and passed a course on remedial training. After having experienced a hearing on pilot review he wants to change the rules on access to information on behalf of the pilots.

    • If he wants to be a bad pilot then let him be a bad pilot as long as only his family flies with him. And if he happens to drop an airplane on my house I reserve the right to drop one on his. Mine will be a drone of course as I would not be stupid enough to fly a plane unless I could do it well.

    • Well, hey, if Dick Cheney accidentally shoot people with impunity, then why the hell shouldn't Inhofe get to land his plane on a populated runway? The people look like ants from way up there, anyway.

    • Here is the moral of this story:
If you fly with Inhofe, Make sure you either have a parachute or your life insurance is paid in full.

    • Hey, Inhofe: Marriage equality is NOT seeking special rights. Flying recklessly, endangering lives then trying to punish the agency that says you need to study more before continuing to fly IS seeking special rights.

The makers of Preparation H should develop a special product line for people charged with maintaining safety for the public who have to to deal with P.I.T.A. bullies on the Hill who think they are special and above the regulations.

You both have the power of the pen (if the stupid people can read and understand what you write). I think the only thing they fear is not being re-elected, so you, as a constituent, have more power than the rest of us in that regard.

    • If Inhofe wants to keep flying even though he's a bad pilot, let's hope he eventually kills himself without taking others with him. I saw the segment Rachel did on this Friday. Excellent.

so long as it is a bare, bleak mountain without vegetation to set on fire, or watershed to pollute!

Nah, I would rather send him fatty meats and hope the stress of regulators with the courage to stand their ground give him a nice, private, local heart attack. He seems to carry enough hate around to contribute to bad doin's in his innards.

    • Some of those on the ground that were in direct danger should file charges against the Senator. He should not be allowed to act as though being a Senator makes him so how above the law. How dare this man believe that he has a right to expect others to allow him to fly right through workers without regard for human life.

Remedial training? Poppycock! Someone needs to take him to court for personal liability of the trauma that he caused to those innnocent beings on the runway that was clearly marked as closed. There has to be a civil suit that can be brought and someone must provide the resources for them to bring this to the courts.

    • I'm reminded of the lyrics to a Dead Kennedys song

"the law don't mean shit if you got the right friends, that's how this countrys run,
I Fought The Law And I Won - I Am The Law and I Won"

    • First, thank you kindly for posting both sides of this, BrushwithDeathToothpaste.

The man almost killed people. What his job is, is irrelevant, from my perspective. Who he is, or is not, is also irrelevant. Perhaps he is offended because the classes are termed "remedial." Perhaps he is offended because the workers didn't just get out of his way. I dunno.

I agree with nashkildare. Mr Inhofe should be thankful he did not kill anyone - including himself - and take the class without throwing a kindergarten-style temper tantrum.

    • Dude, it's just classes. A slap on the wrist. Be thankful you didn't kill anybody, and stop acting like a child or are you afraid you can't pass these classes?
