This is my favorite George Carlin clip. I really miss this guy. There were times when his bathroom humor/sex shock value segments were a little overdone, but his political satire was always right on the mark. And, everything he did was usually very funny. Of course, at the time he made his transition from being a “straight” funny man into the incarnation we all know about, breaking down barriers was all the rage. Stretching the censorship envelope was his intention.
I got a chance to see him at the College of Staten Island near the end of his life. It was an early presentation of some new material, so he had his notes with him. He talked about his heart problems and the diet he was supposed to be on. He was aware of how serious his health problems were. Like many of us he may have continued on with the “weekend warrior” stuff for too long, although at that point in his life he was an abstainer. He used to joke on the Tonight Show during the 1970s about being a late bloomer in regard to partying, I guess he caught up.
But who was ever better at telling it like it is? This man cut through the bullshit and the rhetoric and went right for the jugular. He had his audience in the palm of his hands. I don’t see too many comedians of this rank anymore. The only other guys I can think of who had this much control over their audience were Richard Pryor and Rodney Dangerfield. But, I don’t get around much anymore, so I wouldn’t really know what’s going on in the comedy clubs.

That's awesome. I literally just watched this clip, came to current, and here it is posted. And what a world we live in where the comedians speak more truth than the mainstream news.

Carlin was an atheist. Besides, if there really were a god (there isn't) he should already know what is happening. Voted down out of respect for Carlin. He would not like comments like this. This is exactly the kind of absurdity that he made fun of.

I'm amused when millionaire celebrities tell people "we're" not in the club.
Carlin is right. The Democrats and the NEA don't want to change the status quo in education. They have fought every change (charter schools, vouchers) the Republicans have tried to make to education.
As for Social Security, it was not designed to be a retirement program. Social Security was designed to be a safety net for the poor. When Social Security was created the average age of death was sixty-three. On average people didn't collect since they didn't live to sixty-five. With the average age of death now seventy-eight and the boomer generation entering retirement the Ponzi scheme isn't working anymore.
If anyone thinks when Social Security is deducted from your paycheck it's being invested for future payment in interest bearing accounts, I have a bridge for sale for you.
And those rotten corporations, unless you're self employed they made half the payments for you.

I suppose you feel the same when Warren Buffet says that is is wrong that his tax rate is less than his secretaries.
And Social Security is invested in the safest investments in the world, U.S. treasury bonds, that is until the republicans force a default and start the next great world depression. - 11 months ago

He hates rich or successful liberals... he likes to imagine us all as envious country club wannabes or evil socialist propagandists. He cannot wrap his worldview around the concept of people using their success to support liberal causes.
But his posts serve a purpose - he's educating young people how many within the 1% minority think.Carlin's bits are timeless and more relevant than ever. The type of noise you hear from our friend are just squeals from the point of the barb.

I love your logic - oh, privatize everything because private business always knows how to do things better. Only one small problem with that... every single time, at every single opportunity, private companies will screw whomever, whenever, when it equates to adding a single penny to the profit margin. Cut corners at every chance and lie, cheat, hide, swindle, outsource, and pollute every second of the day. The Corporate States of America is quickly turning this country into a stupid, lazy, ignorant, and easily led third world country for them to exploit as they see fit, when they see fit.

7 years old and it gets more and more true everyday. He tried to warn us even before that, but no one would listen.
