Hey, the tars are impregnated with high concentrations of THC! How old are you, when did you start using, when did you stop? I started using when I was 13 and still do, 50 years later - the tars haven't killed me.

Nope Bong and the longer the water stayed unchanged the better. I was such a killer that I could do a six shooter with one breath. I was addicted to that thing as much as any heroin user is addicted. When I decided that it was time to quit, I went through some pretty tough weeks, shakes etc. Anybody who says it's not addictive is fooling themselves.

Started around 14 and by the end of HS was doing about an OZ a week. Quit in my mid 30's when I noticed I was in the same place as I was 15 years previous. So you are still breathing, that's not the life I'm talking about that it kills.

It didn't kill anything in me, quite the contrary. It stimulated my mental, emotional and creative growths. You're very much the exception.

It is not physically addictive - however, it is indeed psychologically addictive in the weak.

I have smoked pot off and on for 40 years and have Never had a problem quitting in order to work for a company that piss tests! It is easier than quitting an annoying habit like biting your fingernails, it is merely a “Habit”.
So, to anyone that says that smoking pot is “addictive” they are just LYING!!!

That's what make us all unique, we are all chemically different. I stand as one not ashamed of the fact that when I quit it was the hardest thing I ever did. Shakes, unbelievable cramping, not able to think straight and unable to do much of anything for a week. I finally came up with a slow withdrawal system to finally quit. I weaned off of weed. Hey, I'll be the first to admit that I was a very heavy user. Very heavy! I'm sure that made a huge difference. I couldn't do anything in the morning until I had a few bongs. I didn't feel "normal" until I had my bump. When I was out, which was very seldom, but I would get physically sick. I'm not saying it would be like that for everyone, just that it is no different than alcohol. Just because in your experiences you didn't go through that doesn't make my experience invalid. Of course, it's no worse than Coca Cola or sugar. Personally I'd rather kill myself with weed ... if I wanted to kill myself. I no longer do, I have found that pot, alcohol or any mind altering substance is simply a way to escape your reality. If anyone says different THEY are lying.

I have been a Very "Heavy User" many times in my life but have Rarely ever used anything else, other than tobacco which I also quit but Was Addicted to And had withdrawals from. It is the Other drugs/chemicals that are problematic, Not marijuana, and I will continue to call BS anytime anyone tries to spread the “Addiction” or “Gateway” Lie! It was marijuana that Helped me get off of tobacco and it was tobacco and soft drinks that I had withdrawals from, Never Marijuana, even though I have been a Very Heavy user in my life like you say you have, still assessing that statement.

It helped my music career greatly - with it I could remain concentrated for hours on difficult pieces on the guitar and master them, and it also helped a lot with composing and with the writing of lyrics. It also helped a lot with inspiration and one-pointedness in my artwork.

It sounds as if the weed you were using was laced with an addictive drug - a "trick" often used by dealers to sell more and keep clients.

Not sure how I'm spreading lies telling the truth of my own experiences, now I'm starting to believe the old tales that it makes you paranoid as well. Just because everyone is out to get you doesn't make you paranoid. So as you admitted previous, you quit long enough to pass a test to work and I'm a liar? Pardon the pun but, isn't that the pot calling the kettle black? You see, you say you've quit but yet you are still doing it by what I'm gathering... so have you really quit? I once saw a guy who bragged he had quit cigarettes longer than I but he still had one when he drank... that doesn't compute. If it's not addictive stop now for good. But you won't because you'll have a good reason or at least you'll think you do.

Actually I quit for 5 years once for a job, Yes that IS quitting. And for your information I started back when I got Cancer and started Chemo so Yes I do have a reason for starting back. I speak from Many Years of experience and I know a LIE when I hear one!

So you are a successful musician? Congratulations, I was in the top 2% of musician wage earners too a long time ago. I earned over $25,000 my last year in the industry... 1989. And that was working all the time. Sometimes doubling with 2 bands at once. AC, NJ casinos made that possible. I meant that by quitting weed that I thought it ruined my career. You see, my stage fright got worse when I was straight and it suddenly hit me how many people were listening to me. That's how I equate pot ruining my career. Maybe my pot head dealer was spiking it! That would explain everything conveniently.
Addictive or not, it's a mood changing agent. Why do people do drugs? It's for a lack of something in life. A need not received that should be there. A hole that needs filled. If you are being totally honest with yourself you will find what it is you are missing without using artificial means. Mine was sexual abuse as a kid. It numbed that memory pretty well but once I decided to face that monster and saw how small it really was, the need for any artificial method for happiness was gone permanently. I guarantee that if you pursue learning your music straight you will find your dexterity will improve. It might take awhile to get used to... I learned my first rif high, learned all the music high, played all of it high and it took some time to be able to do it straight, but I was able to tackle much more difficult pieces without that 800 lb gorilla on my back. Best to you.

Sure, some people do drugs for a lack of something in life, but by no means do all. What you describe may well be your case, but such broadbrushing is wrong. There is nothing artificial about pot, it is absolutely natural. I have never used pot to compensate for anything lacking, to fill a need not received, nor to fill any hole, nor is there anything whatsoever that I am missing without it. My dexterity improved much faster when I used it than when I didn't use it. To me, it is a servant, not a master. It has a positive purpose. Nowadays, it is the most efficient pain-killer I know which is non-addictive and without negative side-effects whatsoever - I eschew chemical pain-killers, and when I don't have any pot, I prefer to endure the pain rather than take pills of any kind. I experimented with hard drugs to see what they were like, and didn't like them at all, so I didn't pursue those any further.

I never smoked before performing in public, by the way, but my musician friends and I did oftimes smoke together and improvise and play together, in private, for hours, and had a great time.

I am just so passionate about this issue and the prohibitionist propaganda that has been spread for Far too long as you can see. I am a 2 time survivor now and continue my battles but if the Republicans get their way I will loose my $900/month disability and be forced into the streets and loose what little healthcare I now get. Yes, that is my other big issue.

I wish Republicans and Fox News would find some bigger issues to focus on. This isn't something I hear a lot about now (except from Ron Paul), but I'd bet most in the GOP are against legalization and use of marijuana if you asked. Maybe legalization could solve the entire debt-crisis? That'd be some solution!

Well, I'm sure they wouldn't talk about it since Republican's like their cocktails... I'm guessing with the recent push for legalization that has been getting a lot of attention, we will see Fox and other Right Wing outlets pushing as much disinformation and reefer madness as they can. Lies and propaganda are all they have when scientific fact and personal testimonies tell an entirely different story. Let's hope they are not successful in their smear campaign, we've come to far to let low-life's like Fox stop us.

I think there are enough people who know the truth now that it's only a matter of time before it's legalized and all the vile anti-cannabis people will be forced to eat their words as they are shown for the liars and hypocrites that they are! I have tried to grow under 24/7 they don't do as good as the ones that get a few hours of darkness. An like you said they won't flower at all. 12/12 is the only way I have gotten good flowers.
