Dozens of people were outraged after learning they were unable to receive public housing assistance Monday morning.
The people went to the Millennium Youth Center hoping to apply for subsidized housing. However, they received erroneous information and could not apply. There has been a waiting list for assistance in Austin since 2006.
"What the crap what do they want us to live homeless for the rest our lives?" asked Angela Parker.
She was one of at least 100 people who say they were duped Monday morning.
"I've been here since 3:30 this morning," she said.
