Women Continue to Vanish from Wilderness in BC

Image

In the early 1990s young women, mainly aborigines, began disappearing from the 837-mile stretch of Highway 16 that cuts through the Rocky Mountains. This road is now referred to as the "Highway of Tears".

The latest victim went missing in May of 2011 and like all the previous cases of missing women, this one still remains unsolved. Sadly, the families of these young women often receive little help, much less respect from local police.
