"Anyone want to talk about the story we're not covering?"

"Not with a ten foot Turban..."

So much for the "we report" part of their slogan.

    • They may have a problem with self incrimination ... They might mention something not yet known by investigators , if it as wide spread as it looks .

    • This doesn't surprise me any more than the more liberal outlets ignoring stories that paint their actions or stances in a negative light. I wish there was an actual news station without an agenda, but sadly they all pass on skewed information to serve an agenda.

That said, it does disappoint me when people pick and choose when to be outraged by this type of behavior. Don't let it slide when it's on the other side of the aisle, although I see that all the time.

No, I just support bringing back common sense. I know that I am only getting part of the story when I read FOX News, Huffington Post, or MSNBC. They all claim to report the news, but in truth they only report the news that furthers their cause or, if they report the "other" side, they do so in a way that paints them in the most positive light possible.

I don't think the government has any business in media, and quite frankly, their involvement would scare me. I don't want controversial voices stifled because the government doesn't like what they have to say (and I know they Fairness Doctrine doesn't provide for this scenario, per se, but I can foresee things moving in that direction).

Love them or hate them, Fox News contributes to political commentary, providing a perspective often ignored by more liberal outlets. They bring stories to light that would otherwise be buried deep in other websites assuming they ever saw the light of day. I certainly don't agree with everything FOX publishes, but I wouldn't take away their right to free speech. We, the public, just need common sense, not government regulations.

Spoken like a true Republican Lie supporter. I don't care What anyone says on any channel that does Not call themselves the "News" but to be called "News" you should be held to higher standards!

As I said, all news outlets are skewed. If you think this is unique to FOX, then you're sadly mistaken and I feel sorry for you and your naivety. You have to think when you read things - it shouldn't be too much to ask for a person to have the capacity to think critically and analyze what they read.

Government involvement in media is not the answer. In fact, it's reminiscent of all of distopian "big brother" literature or even some of the corrupt police state dictatorships that exist or have existed throughout history. Stifling voices of those with whom you disagree is dangerous. It's an infringement of first amendment rights and it's the first step in creating second class citizenry (think Nazi Germany). Part of what makes America so great is that we can have this dialogue between us right now without fear and ideally without personal insults. We have news reported from a variety of sources, and any logical person who steps back from this two-party, "us versus them" mindset can readily recognize spin and bias in the reporting of most of our news articles.

So FOX isn't covering this story. It's not like MSNBC, Huffington Post, or CNN haven't done the same thing in the past. Do I think it's honest of them? No, not really. But they're all news publications and they can publish or not publish what they wish (that's the beauty of freedom of the press and freedom of speech). For example, I recall quite a bit of selective reporting when the shooting of Gabrielle Giffords occurred in Arizona. Liberal outlets had published quotes in their articles from people speculating about how Laughner was probably some hard-core Republican angry with the Democrat agenda. Then, thanks to the beauty of social networking, we found out that the exact opposite was true. Even after the facts came to light, many of the mainstream media outlets left the completely inaccurate quotes in their stories. Slowly (and I mean weeks for some of them) the truth was published, hidden within their stories without apology for publishing faulty assumptions as news. FOX of course published the truth about Laughner as soon as it came to light - not surprising since it serves their purposes. Do I agree with how the media handled the reporting? No, of course not, but I found the truth quite easily and brushed off the selective reporting as just another example of media bias and spin.

As I said, both sides do this. I've learned to take everything with a grain of salt and use my brain when I read the "news," no matter where I get it from. For the record I am not a Republican or a "lie supporter," but I don't feel so insecure as to retaliate with name-calling.

Sorry if I painted you wrongly but I still stand by my defense of the Fairness Doctrine. The only way to get “propaganda” out of news is with a law similar to the Fairness Doctrine. If a station wants to call a program “NEWS” then they should be REQUIRED to tell the TRUTH! I don’t care what anyone wants to say on Any other program! The NEWS should be held to higher standards!

They deserve to loose everything. What I can't understand is they know that they are going to loose their jobs by lying this way. Someone must be paying them under the table, they all need investigating.

    • Fox is the oversized musclebound bully who has punched and knee-capped the other smaller children for years..taking their lunch money and their toys....well, one of the wee tots managed to bring him down...now all the other abused and beatup kids are pouncing...Now is the time to take this cancer of "journalism" out. I say keep the wedgies coming...and when Murdoch is forced to shut out the lights on the blonde mannequins at fox..maybe then they'll cover the story.

That's a very astute observation. They are changing the conversation from NewsCorp is guilty of phone hacking to phone hacking, in general, a problem. Nothing like discussing the problem without saying a word about it.

Oh how I wish they were finished. Even IF Murdock was to loose FOX and even IF FOX shut down, (not going to happen, Republicans wouldn't allow it), it would only be temporary because the Koch brothers would buy it. The only way to really get rid of them is to bring back the "Fairness Doctrine".

    • Fox & Friends - (friend being a PR guy)

Trying to figure out why the public is "piling on this story"
and wondering why they "won't leave it alone" - "shouldn't we get beyond it"

"Murdoch has appologized, but for some reason the public media keeps going over this again & again & again"
      - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

I think the Media should cover this just as much as Fox covered a single black panther standing outside a voting location holding a stick.

That sounds Fair & Balanced to me.

They need to get someone to counsel their viewers before they start jumping off the cliff like a bunch of sheep, they were already under a lot of stress from the canceling of Glen Beck's show. You do know that stress is accumulative.

You think I care about being booted from a site I never posted ONE comment on? I'm honored not to be part of your gossip venture. Besides, you shouldn't be talkin' about Leen like that. She's VERY nice. There are a lot of nice people here.

Gentle Reminder: You were banned from HUFF as punchmonkey, so what the hell? LOL

Yeah punchmonkey didn't know the rules, and if you remember, I was guilty of posting my new My Chemical Romance song on every page there... Seemed ok to me, I just wanted my friends/followers to see my new favorite song... That was my bad for sure... But still I think you were trying to make a Point??? BTW I never said anything about Leen other than replying to her comment from last night which I think was very well rounded, and Nice to be Honest... =)

Most lap dogs do come when they are called. That is how this little group of multiple personalities rolls.
They trip over all the socks they have and claim they have none.
Talking truth is a waste of your breath.
I have tried and they always try to put a sad pathetic spin on it when in fact, nobody gives a damn about any of them any more.
Just ran into this and all I can do is shake my head...They all need to get a life.

Kudos to you for saying it like it is.

I hope the F.B.I (in color, a Quinn Martin Production) is looking in on this and the potential long list of (alleged for you legal eagles out there) violations made by the Rupert machine. It's no wonder that the looney tunes party (my apologies to the real cartoon characters) known as the GOP gets top billing on that channel, while the so-called "news" department totally ignores what's going on.

They know they've been caught with their pants on the ground!
