I can only agree with him if we continue to not only permit, but to also facilitate, the current "rogue" politicians who continue to act only in the interests of splinter economies, by taking your money and funneling it to special interests which will never come back to benefit you or this nation as a whole. The only way we will ever restore America and it's whole economy, is if WE grab the controls from the hands of out of control politicians and drive this economy back to health ourselves. No one else is going to do that for us, as history has and is showing us.

    • The difficulty here is determining who the rogue politicians are. Fox news reports "he said ...." CNN reports "He said, she said", nobody mainstream reports "Here are the facts". We are watching criminal activity and treating it like business as usual. It will be interesting to see how the Wisconsin drama plays out. Maybe we will see an actual "throw the bums out" scenario. I truly hope so. At the federal level, the system may be too deeply entrenched to change quickly.

    • Yeah. But its like the problem with gold and silver. Are people going to continue hoarding it from joe shmo? Or wait till koe shmo produces somthing of value? What about those people that think they are going to get rich when people cant even afford the price of metals right now?

    • Oh i am quite aware of it . Instead of corporate bail outs and subsidies , we should have built up infrastructure , public transport and green energy jobs , at least i though that is what Obama was going to do , and decriminalize MJ . That is what seems to make most sense to me .

My dream is that Obama gets a second term and he legalizes both industrial MJ and recreational MJ. Couple that w/ bringing ALL troops home, taxing the shit out of any US company that provides jobs- overseas, and taxing GWBs base. I love that dream.

    • I was watching the History Channel this morning and they were comparing what is going on in the States right now to what happened to ancient Egypt before the fall of that empire. Too many wars and not enough money or food for their citizens. Think about what happened to the Soviet Union. Too many wars and not enough money or food for their citizens. The Soviet Union ended up being broken up into a number of smaller countries. If the Unitied States doesn't get its act together soon, I predict the same thing will happen to the States. Many state governments are not acting in the best interest of it citizens or the Unitied States. You have many federal politicians that are also not acting in the best interest of the United States. When you cater to only special interests at the sacrifice of the country as a whole, something has to give and I fear the States has reached that brink. Let us hope there is still time to turn the tide around.

    • Confucious said that the enlightened ruler does not worry about the lower classes not knowing the upper classes but about the upper classes not knowing the lower classes. I think we know them and they don't realize how well we know they don't know us .....sooner or later somethings going to hit the fan the way things are going.

Yes and our economy is stronger too. However, the fluctuation in the Canadian dollar is creating problems of their own that can have a negative impact on our economy in exports and imports. The US need to get its act together before it brings the whole world economy down again.

    • Just like the past few recession recovery, this one shows promise (or lack thereof) of being a jobless recovery. All the pundits seem to think about in terms of recover is GDP growth and very little about wages and unemployment. Even with all the screaming about jobs it falls on deaf ears in Washington. In my view you can trace it back to NAFTA but I'm sure its roots go back further than that. Poor trade agreements lead to low wages and lost jobs, which contribute to lost revenues and rising deficits. I remember Obama and Hillary debating NAFTA during their primary campaigns and it was her views that had me supporting her over the president. Now it seems like virtually nothing is being said about NAFTA or that scourge on our society, the WTO.

    • The people have to take back America from the monied interests but the problem is that the people who have the ability to stimulate a recovery don't want to spend those financial resources. Short of a new FDR and an entirely new cast of politicians, it will be very tough to get those jobs flowing again.
