Rove Group Targets 10 Democrats

The ads target lawmakers on tax and spending issues and for their support of President Barack Obama’s policies, including the stimulus package passed in 2009. Crossroads is spending $1.4 million on the campaign, or a little more than $100,000 per district — a significant ad buy in a House race for a third-party group this early in the election cycle.

When will people tire of 'large sums of money' wasted on politics, while people suffer. Wealthy Republicans willing to invest in politicians, instead of utilizing their money to create jobs. I truly hope it backfires and people realize 'money is being wasted'. All that money comes from somewhere. People are putting politics before people. They won't even let us relax a little during an off year.
They aren't campaigning for this year. They are smearing Democrats this year, for next year. Stirring division. Sad, sad, sad.

Your math is a little off, Obama has only been President for 2-1/2 years (January 20, 2009 to July 2011). I follow your reasoning to some extent, but it is a little late to close the barn door after the horse has escaped. However, the US needs to stop giving tax breaks to Corporations that move their jobs overseas, which is what happened after Bush gave them the tax breaks in 2003.
The government could save money by negotiating with Drug Companies on the Medicare Part D, the was never funded and was a big money maker for these companies. They could also save money by ending the two unfunded wars that Bush got the country into, that he never included in the deficit while he was President. The country did not know what the real deficit was until Obama became President. The deficit was $1.2 trillion when Obama was sworn in and it is now $1.4 trillion ($900 billion for the stimulus funding the balance is the accumulation of the programs unfunded under Bush).
I do agree that Rove needs to be stopped. If he manages to get Rick Perry elected President, there will be another Bush-like in the White House that would spend like a drunken sailor, but not worry about how it is funded, because Republicans do not believe in paying taxes (especially their rich buddies and corporation).
At least President Obama is trying to negotiate some kind of solution that will help the whole country. Since he was elected the GOP have done everything in their power to defeat him, they do not care if it hurts the country, as long as they get back in control.

Thank you. I am so frustrated with some on here that are starting to turn on the President. His approval rating tanked to 45% because some liberals are mad at him because he dares to talk about reforming the big three. It makes me so mad. There are so many ways that you can improve the programs without affecting the benificiaries, but they are not going to support him because he even dares talk about reforming them. Medicare and medicaid need reforming or the country will go broke paying for them. There needs to be cost controls put in place. Besides no one has seen any details of what he maybe proposing, they just scream don't touch! ERRRRRR!
And I like Bernie Sanders, he makes a good Senator, but there is no way he could win and he cannot primary Obama because he is an Independent not a Democrat, so the only way he could run is as a third party candidate. You might as well have Nader run again, as you will be handing the Presidency over to the GOP, but don't stop the far left from talking about it and pushing him to do it.
I bet the ones making the most noise on the left were the ones that stayed home last November and gave the election to the GOP and if they keep it up the same thing will happen in 2012.
With everyone drawing their own lines in the sand the country is going to go down the toilet rather than moving forward. And the President virtually stands alone with barrels pointed at him from both sides.

In my opinion he's much worse than the likes of a Murdoch...He's the ultimate con man , fixer ....running scams with political backing is what this guy does....literally ...his title is .." Political scam artist of the highest calibre" .....I truly believe he would stop at nothing....I/we can only hope, now that he doesn't have someone to pardon his crimes he'll screw up and get caught...maybe than some of his past crimes will have a chance to stick, talk about a, 'Teflon Don'....he's it ! This guy has destroyed so many people that it's a wonder he's still breathing....I'll cheer the day he crosses the wrong person and they have the ability to nail him to the wall, but i still believe it will be his own ego that will eventually end his distruction. Some say the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over expecting different results, so let's just keep on voting on machines rigged to determine the outcome (machines that Democrats never objected to).Let's just keep on trusting people who have shown time and time againg that we are the last thing that they consider when legislation is created. Let's keep hope alive that one day they will actually feel pity for us and throw us some crumbs.
One of these old days things will change and all you have to do is just be patient.
Believe them when they make promises that they have no intention on keeping or even attempting to carry out.
We just have to trust them to do what best for us, after all election time is rolling around and once again we become significant if only for a little while. - 10 months ago

nardo1224:
Violence is a solution which, when implemented, will destabilize the very basis of Democracy and Society itself, the rule of law.
Once you can use violence, so can your opponents. Then the only basis for disagreements becomes violence and the only guarantee to stability is military supremacy (and, in this respect, no pitiful militia could ever stand up to the might of predator drones and AC-130 Spectra Gunships).
Violence becomes an unending cycle as the defeated sink into terrorism and other butchery and the victors turn to fascism and brutality.
There's a reason revolutions seldom end in success, what makes you think you can pull your country's guts out and then put it back together again? Take the example of the Weimar Republic if you must, who overthrew the Kaiser only to have the Nazis replace them with the same tactic about a decade later.
I hope this quote from Yeats evokes the kind of imagery you need to internalize to realize why what you said is so incredibly wrong.
" Turning and turning in the widening gyre
The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity. "Seriously, calm down and think about what you're saying. You're being really stupid.

I identify with some of your characterization assertions. But I don't see our condition being the result of the last 30 years off the range politics. I see it as the result of a continuous ebb and flo in the battle between those who support a nation and those who support a few, dating back to our founding documents. As well, I define progressivism as the activist arm of "TRUE CONSERVATISM"! Because it is not conservative to pollute the earth to a degree that it can not sustain life. It is not conservative to let our country decay from within for the financial gain of a few. It is truly conservative to let business run amok destroying economies worldwide for the exclusive enrichment of a few. These seem to me to be the characteristics of a group of sociopaths

That I agree with and I know this for sure....Wedge issues (like gay marriage) may have worked for Rove in 2004, but that won't work now because more and more people believe in gay marriage equality. As for the midwest, it gets more encourageing. Today, for example, I had a couple of errands to run. I was driving along side a woman with a Recall Walker bumper sticker. I honked my horn and gave her a thumps up. She smiled at me. Then I got in front of her so she could see my Recall Walker bumper sticker. I made her smile. Norquist may very well be a freak of nature, be that as it may, he holds a great deal of power. I find it horrifying that a man who has not been elected in anyway gets to decide that he speaks for the "American People" He has a majority of our Representatives under direct control and 41 of our Senators. Progressives standing down by not voting or protest voting will allow Norquist to make further gains.

I absolutely agree, frankly the Republican officials taking these oaths is outright straight up TREASON. They say they are making these oaths to the American People, nothing could be further from the truth.

I have never understood where Norquist gets his power. Why do they fear him? What happens if they vote against his pledge,they signed?

In 2009, Norquist received $200,000 in annual compensation for his part-time job (24 hours per week) with Americans for Tax Reform, plus an addition $22,419 other compensation from the organization and related organizations.
And some of those who fall for this crud are lucky to make the 22,419 a year! - 10 months ago

I never asked you to "Kiss my ass," I don't have a problem moving my feet, I don't only comment online. I don't even have to good fortune to have a "bluedog" to address my concerns to, I have to make my complaints to Pols in the Reddest state in the union.
Yes I think that revolution is necessary, but I don't know that the coming generation does not have the intestinal fortitude for the job. We have lost any protections we had before and the 60's and 70's were pretty bloody when we had those protections -- I know that first hand, how about you?

sorry some where i got the kiss my ass phrase and missed posting to the right person
yes many of my school buddies were drafted and sent to Vietnam if they didn't pass their mid terms and quarter finals in collage and the were brought home in body bags and the ones that did survive were spit upon and called baby killers and my friends that made it to Canada spent years and still are call traitors. Most vets did not receive any benefits and were denied claims for the results of exposed to agent mean while we were fighting about the draft , the war and the government intrusions on our lives the Johnsonites and Nixonites work to privatize the V.A. and it's benefits - 10 months ago
