While the Rupert Murdoch scandal is justifiably front-page news, there is a much wider problem with the mainstream media. http://georgewashington2.blogspot.com/2011/07/presstitutes.html-

Presstitutes...I love this word! Its so fitting to how the press focus on scandals rather than on the news that matters.

If the media favors the rich and powerful please explain this ...
"A full 68 percent of voters consider the news media biased, the poll found. Most, 46 percent, believe the media generally favor Democrats, while 22 percent said they believe Republicans are favored, with 28 percent saying the media is reasonably balanced."

Peoples' personal opinions of the media really don't change the reality of what it does. And since it only becomes more glaringly obvious as time goes on, that's not an unexpected result.
I fail to see what you were trying to point, and you'd have to be pretty clueless to think that mainstream news doesn't suck up to politicians or CEO's. Or do I need to drag out the interview with Bernie Madoff where reporter after reporter praised his business acumen even though it was plainly available fact that he was under investigation by the SEC?

When was the last time you actualy saw real news on CNN headline news? It is all celebrity gossip and fluff. Why? keeping people ignorant about real issues benefits their corporate sponsors.
