Throughout the experience guests will learn about the history of the United States of America through the lives of its iconic leaders. Madame Tussauds provides a once in a lifetime family experience in the heart of Washington D.C.

This first area transports you back in time to the very beginnings of American history. Meet King George III and try on period costumes as you join George Washington in his boat crossing the Delaware River. Meet and interact with the Founding Fathers and test your knowledge of American history using a touch screen quiz. Sit at a table with John Adams as he prepares the declaration of independence with Benjamin Franklin and Thomas Jefferson watching over you.5top
Voting Station
Here there are two polling stations in which you can explore and learn how the presidents were once elected and how this has changed to today's modern voting system. Place your card in the box to elect your all time favorite president.5top
Campaign Trail
Take to the road and experience how the delegates used to campaign for their presidential vote. Speak out to the public from a campaign wagon along side James Polk and Millard Fillmore and discover facts about how campaigns were run by opening interactive crates situated around the space.5top
Civil War
Learn about the history of slavery and immerse yourself in the environment by stepping into a wooden cell. Then sit along side Abraham Lincoln in a recreation of the Ford's theatre box. Hear the crowd cheer and applaud the show as you are immersed in the moment just before his assassination. Opposite Lincoln you can learn about the Civil War and take part in the famous surrender scene by wearing period style costumes while sitting at a table with Robert E Lee and Ulysses Grant.5top

Discover how the White House has changed throughout history. Wander into the Red Room and pick up the telephone to hear key Presidential facts and open interactive frames to learn about the various rooms and their uses.5top
Welcome to America
Enter Ellis Island and get set to experience how it must have felt arriving in America in the early stages of its development. Here you can also pose for a photo in front of the entrance to Yellowstone Park with President Theodore Roosevelt.5top
WWI
Use the interactive scales to compare your weight with the heaviest President in American history, William Taft. Then opposite you can stand next to Woodrow Wilson on the gangplank and hear the crowds cheer your arrival at the end of World War I.5top

The Roaring 20's end as the start of World War 2 begins in the late 1930's. Take your place next to Franklin D Roosevelt for one of his fire side chat broadcasts while Winston Churchill stands near by.5top
