Barack, dude....these folks are insane. They would rather trash the economy than raise the debt limit. You can't deal with these folks.
Here's what you do:
Put the Reid/Schumer plan on the table. Tell the GOP they have until the weekend to accept it. The Reid plan gives them everything they want: no revenue increases and 2.7 trillion in budget cuts.
If they don't sign by this weekend, use your constitutional authority and order Geithner to raise the debt ceiling and get the bills paid. Then, take the Reid plan off the table and let's have this discussion on the campaign trail.
