As someone who has suffered the mumps & rubella (some of the late 1960s vaccines turned out to be duds), and having a sister who spent 3 weeks in an oxygen tent while chickenpox flourished on the lining of her lungs, I am a big fan of vaccinations.
Considering that they took the thimerosal out of vaccines a few years ago, it's amazing Florida spent the time & money addressing the question.
We all have tiny amounts of mercury in our bodies, and lead, and dioxins and even some radioactive substances. But there is an old saying, "The poison is in the dose" - it's the amount that is of concern.
Before germ theory & vaccinations, smallpox, whooping cough, rubella, measles, mumps, tetanus, polio, etc., etc., killed unimaginable numbers of people every year - most of the doubling of life expectancy in the past century has been thanks to vaccinations.
To get a few molecules of preservative in my arm with something that increases my chances of not dying of some awful infection , and helps create herd immunity that protects people who are too young for all their vaccinations to be complete, or have egg allergies or who got a bad batch of vaccine, is a rick I gladly take.
