Cherri Foytlin and three Gulf Coast activists have been arrested in front of BP Headquarters in New Orleans.
“The time has come” says Foytlin. “We have exhausted our options, collected the facts, tried negotiation, gone from meeting to meeting. The oil is still here. We are still here, and we will not wait! Take care of my people on the coast!”
Since last summer, when Foytlin reached out to President Obama (to no avail), she said in a press release. She has attended countless town hall meetings, community forums, and has walked from New Orleans to Washington DC in order to be sure federal officials are aware of the unresolved economic, environmental, and health devastation caused by the BP disaster.
Foytlin is one of several dozen Gulf Coast fishermen, BP clean-up workers, residents and community organizers who gathered in front of BP Headquarters in New Orleans to mark the one year anniversary of the date when the White House falsely claimed that 75 percent of the oil was gone from the Gulf of Mexico.
The group demanded BP and Kenneth Feinberg honor health claims and operate a transparent and fair claims process for those impacted financially. Feinberg has denied all health claims and has approved less than 40 percent of all claims submitted.
“It takes people who have courage to hold BP accountable,” said Darlene Campbell, Immaculate Heart Community Development Corporation of Lucedale, Mississippi. “It is deplorable that no one from BP has been arrested, yet you can arrest an activist who is standing up for the people who have been effected by BP.”
Participants also advocated for independent, non-industry funded science, particularly for turtle necropsies, a critical issue, as Gulf Coast shrimpers are being unjustly and without supporting data, blamed for the alarming increase in sea turtle deaths since the Deepwater Horizon exploded last April.

Cherri's arrest. Word has it BP has been watching her, along with other activists, trying to shut them up. Cherri was the organizer of the event. The BP officials had their eye on her all day, and targeted her, waiting for any chance to make an arrest. - 10 months ago

Dennis Bernstein interviews Cherri Foytlin (Pacifica Berkeley) live in front of BP in New Orleans today http://ow.ly/5VJhx
(Sorry, posting from an iphone - trying to select 'no image' but it won't let me.)
This is a must hear interview about the real, and growing, crisis along the Gulf Coast. She says 40% of the citizens are sick, but Feinberg and local doctors refuse to acknowledge any health problems exist. An 'upstanding citizen' from Mississippi claims during the interview that the entire Southern region of the US is dead.
They are not receiving health care or compensation. And no one is listening.
Another man was interviewed about his sickness. He said that Obama's refusal to help the Gulf was treason. - 10 months ago

"Activist arrested for using the rest room"
https://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=260595167301047
Watch the video by David Clow (on Facebook).
David's comments: "The two ladies you see followed and took photos of an activist using a mobile restroom to use as evidence of trespassing to force the police to act, as the police were not willing to press any charges prior to this, despite constant urging to do so by these very same ladies. It looks like their spying and running down alleyways paid off."

Cherri Foytlin went into an area that was BP property and used the mobile restroom on the property. They took photos of her and gave them to the police. These two ladies from BP ran in the 100 degree heat to follow her as they knew that they had their chance to get her. WOW ARRESTED FOR USING A PORT-A-POTTY
