Who do you consider a great leader and why? What characteristic is the most important to develop to become a great leader?

I would say Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela. He was the first democratically elected President of South Africa, and through great challenges and opposition, he persevered, rising to the triumph of his nation. His best leadership trait is HOPE. Hope is sometimes more powerful than any other trait or skill. Having HOPE and Clarity of Vision as a leader is essential to success!

    • Genghis Khan. He led well. We would all be MUCH better off without "GREAT leaders".

      Socrates was a valuable human being with long lasting cultural value; that "other sort" of influential monkey is of a transitory utility,.... ( to some select fraction of a self interested short lived generation ),.....if THAT,.............at BEST !
