Divide and conquer; A case for Ron Paul & Dennis Kucinich in 2012

Pfailblog
Matt Gratz, Political Fail Blog-

We need someone who will take real action. Obama has been all talk, but when it comes down to it, what has he done? What positive change has he enabled? 2008 was one huge propaganda campaign that still has many people hypnotized.

Ron Paul will do what we all want. The troops will come home, the wars of aggression will stop, we will have a smaller military presence around the planet, freeing up tons of resources for us to better our lives here at home.

Some say Ron Paul is too radical socially. He will not attempt to roll back history. He is not against gay rights or women's rights, in fact being a libertarian means you stand for personal liberty.

A lot will say they are afraid he will ruin the public school system and other social programs we have. If you haven't noticed, our kids are as dumb as rocks and our social programs are failing due to military spending. So why is it a bad idea to try something new? We know that what we are doing now, and have done in the past has not been successful, so the common sense thing to do is to try something new.

Another huge reason people won't vote for him is the party (or team) he is running with. Some people are so lost in the illusion of politics, that they will only vote for a candidate based on what their party affiliation is. (If I fight for gay rights, then I can never vote for someone who is a republican, or if I stand against abortion, then I will never for for a democrat.) This kind of thinking is what has kept us in this state of confusion and aggression.

If people who claimed to be liberal stopped for a second, turned off MSNBC, and actually paid attention to what's happening beyond the name calling, drama filled, sports-like arena called politics, they might realize they share many of the same values and goals of Ron Paul.

If people who Identify as conservative would stop for a bit, turn down Fox news and listen to Dennis Kucinich, they would see that they also share many values and goals.

The only way we as a country can overcome all the hardship we find ourselves to be in, is to let go of our ego's and decided together that we will not be divided and conquered. We are far too smart a species to be fooled like this.

If we do not have a major revolution by November 2012, then let's at least agree to not vote into office another bank owned, bomb loving President. It's time to create a better reality for all.

    • Dennis J. Kucinich = Human Being

      Ron Paul = Koch-Backed KKK

No way to bring these two onto the same planet much less the same country.

    • I like Ron Paul because he stands by his convictions. He is consistent and passionate. But whenever his candidacy comes up I keep asking the same question and never get a reply:

What populous successful government in the world subscribes to a system where educational systems, international relations, environmental protection, and social safety nets are completely removed? Simply put, how does a Libertarian government work with 300+ million people? I don't believe the system could sustain one city and a surrounding community.

    • " Bank owned, bomb loving " could not be as much exaggeration as
people assume. Actions talk much louder than words. Pinochiobama's
actions tell us he's 100 % status quo, and 0 essential change. Cosmetic
changes to make it look like change to appease the superficial, yes.
But with Nobama's choices for Treasury and Agriculture secretaries
sitting on the NWO's Trilateral Comission & ex Federal Reserve, and
Monsanto former execs, hell no-Nobama's gotta go...I'm glad the two
of Ron Paul & Dennis Cucinich was raised, because even though it
would be unprecedented to nominate people from opposite labels,
that's all they realy are in 2011. The real question to ask yourselves
is: Are they Corporatist Party ? And not Dems or Repubs. Look at the
facts. They're both anti war, anti Prohibition, pro Constitution G people
who are competent to lead. When their own parties refused to allow
them to speak at the 2008 Republican national convention, and refused
to nominate them knowing they were exactly the right people for the job...,
Instead staged a farce where NWO Bush & the CIA nominated Nobama...
behind the scenes to continue on with Bush's 3rd term in office and
Bush's Piracy R US regime, then only brainwashed people know not
they've been had. To all those who put one human above their country
because Nobama & Oprah are their fave celebrities, the party's over pal.
Don't look now, but it's the day after, and it's time to clean up your mess.

well at least your logic is sound? Honestly I think our system is about choosing the candidate who sucks the least. IN this election I think Ron Paul is the only candidate that doesn't suck complete nuts. Unless barney frank runs against Obama then Ron Paul for sure has my vote!

This is why anonymity on the internet is so important. We can say what we feel without worry. I'm sure you didn't mean to go out and hack him up haha. I wrote this to try to get the two sides to come together a little better. We need to find common ground somewhere to move forward. I don't even know what to label my political views as.. I guess I would be a Liberal Libertarian.. I like some ideas from each way of thinking, and I think there is a sweet middle ground we can all agree to.

    • "Why is it a bad idea to try something new" in regards to public schooling, a case could be made that "something new" was all the teaching-to-the-test & threatening to take funds from schools whose kids didn't do well on the tests, of No Child Left Behind.

Dismantling public school is a dumb idea. We can't blame public schools for the fact that they've been starved of resources for generations, teachers have been vilified political footballs - not to mention underpaid & having their hands tied by uneducated idiots forcing them to not teach facts like evolution critical to understanding the biology of the world, and math-hating being revered as a sign of a "creative" intellect, and parents who bully & threaten school personnel when their kids are given a bad grade or disciplined for antisocial behavior leading to grade inflation & distracting atmosphere in schools.

I got yanked out of a good public school & sent to Catholic school when the public school began an investigation over concerns about abuse in my home (that were not unfounded). The Catholic school gave me enough schooling to pass state required exams, but no calculus, no physics, bare minimum of biology & chemistry to get by state requirements. Of the two, the public school in my town offered much more educational opportunities than the Catholic school, and instead of supporting my parents' nasty ways, actually tried to intervene.

I don't know if it would be a good idea to get the federal government out of education all together, but I do know that they have done a horrible job. Most kids today couldn't even tell you what continent Egypt is on. Something has happened or is happening to the quality of our education because the government hasn't been able to properly control their system.

They created a prison like environment where every child is held to the same standards. Kids are just numbers on a piece of paper. There is no room for individualism or creativity in the public school systems. Kids are required to memorize numbers and past experiences, but are not encouraged to explore new ways of thinking or to challenge old ideas.

A different way of educating our youth needs to be explored, but who is willing to do it?

And when someone who believes they can talk to people in the sky who are watching over them, and that they must obey a 2,000+ year old rule book, who are trying to teach children, I wouldn't expect it to be quality educating. Religious schools are counter-productive to our evolution.

If the federal government wasn't involved, the kids in Dover public schools would be learning in Science class that creationism is a scientifically sound alternative to evolution.

That's true. So that is something that would need to stay. We need to teach our kids the truth, but in a better way is all I'm saying. What we are doing now is not working.

don't the states control the education of our children to the greatest extent? If we had standardized and uniform educational program tailored to include the educational needs of today, continually and fully funded, we wouldn't have to be confronting semi illiterate individuals everywhere from the grocery stores to the drivers license bureau.

I believe the states do have a lot of control over their schools, but what I was talking about is federal standards. Kids must memorize what the federal government decides they need to know. I left public school after my first year in high school because it was just crippling my mind. I had to break free of the rules and structure. Just didn't feel right.

Milla Jovovich is still waiting for those Resident Evil stumblebums to get
out of line and " rush us " at all of 1 mile an hour. If she has to she can
still kick into her Ultraviolet mode and clean house. The Nobamazombis
can sit on it. With their heads in their asses, they'll only blow their minds.
