We all know that there will be one turncoat Democrat that will join with the lock-stepping Rethuglicans, and my guess is Joe Lieberman... What do you folks think???-

This is no longer the America we grew up with . The new government is emerging , and "the People" are not a part of it . Unless we fight hard , NOW , it will be a long time before we can ever get it back , perhaps it is already hopeless , but i vote we make it SO difficult to dominate us , they give up . There are Ways .

This is the dumbest idea I've ever heard of in modern government!
This so-called 'Super Committee' is the last straw. I campaigned for Obama and like so many others, had such hopes for his Administration. But with this mind boggling capitulation, I must now admit that Obama has let us all down on a herculean scale.
This President has now forfeited all his power as President by allowing a new branch of government to circumvent the US Congress. Furthermore, he clearly does not have the best interest of the average American in his sights... which now makes him part of the problem, not the solution. Its' a sad time in America.

I doesn't really matter who the Dems put on the committee. A Lieberman would make it easier for the rethuglicans to get what they want without the trigger. But the rules are setup in "heads we win, tails you lose" format. The Dems could load up the committee with six copies of Carl Marx and it would end the same way.

Lieberman won't be able to be seated on that committee since he is not a Democrat or Republican, but rather the head of the "Lieberman Party" and he caucuses with the Thugs these days anyway. Unfortunately, I don't think that Bernie Sanders will be able to be seated on this committee either as he is an independent rather than Democrat (even though he is one of the few that actually acts like a Democrat)
This whole idea makes me more than a little uneasy, just by the way it is structured.

I have news for anyone too steeped in ignorance to realize it but it is not a Republican/ Democrat thing. Tough for the water carriers out there. It is a liberal/ libertarian as they have been known but to me me the opposite of liberal is conservative thing. The point is, this Super Congress which has morphed into the label Super Committee to avoid pesky questions about its legitimacy, is to be made up of 6 Republicans and 6 Democrats. In fact, if a member of either House voted against the do nothing debt bill last week it they are enjoined from participating in this Super Congress. So you can put your characterization about "lock -stepping Rethuglicans" where the sun doesn't shine.
I have already called my Senator, a Democrat, about this and asked the call taker where the senator found the authority in the Constitution to do this. Her response was, and I quote," Where does it say we can't". So there you have it boys and girls. In addition to Pelosi who laughed when asked about the Constitutional authority for Obamacare we have a Senate, and a Congress if history is any indicator, that thinks that not being prohibited is to be permitted.
So now you have two Demoncrat Senators to join the Rethuglican Senators.
You can be your Aunt Tilleys t%*t that this Super Whatever will screw us. Just like to see the author have a little intellectual honesty about the subject. - 1 year ago

There is no language in the bill that says or even implies that. Show me.
Edited to add - A quick google search of your BS shows that it was Republicans ONLY who said that if a republican did not vote for this bill they would be excluded. why do you insist on being dishonest, is it deliberate? http://www.weeklystandard.com/blogs/fiscal-conservatives-barred-supercommittee_5...

well, at least my question was answered... your dishonesty is deliberate. Your statement that *Bolding is mine---
" if a member of EITHER HOUSE voted against the do nothing debt bill last week it they are enjoined from participating in this Super Congress" was in fact a lie. Only one side said that, Republicans. Own it. If it was accurate based on news at the time you would have provided a link. You can still provide a link - prove me wrong.. I'll wait.
I dont hate you, I dont even know you. I challenge you to go back through all of my responses to you and find hate. I challenge you to find anything but me calling out your lies and backing up my assertions with links, with facts.
The fact that you felt the need to make the issue of prohibiting members of congress to sit on the committee as a bipartisan opinion when it was not shows that it is YOU who is worshiping at the altar.
For the record- I think this super committee is a huge mistake but I will not use lies to bolster my reasons for disliking it.

Joe Lieberman is not a Democrat. He lost the Democratic Primary. He campaigned with John McCain and Sarah Palin. That in it's self illustrates, he is no Democrat and should not be included in the Democratic catagory.
If Joe Lieberman is in the Super Committee, he should count as a Republican. Don't give a Democratic seat at the table to a 'cloned' Republican. If Joe Lieberman get's a seat at the table, so should Bernie Sanders.

Joe Lieberman is not and has never been a Democrat. He has his own agenda which has nothing to do with representing or giving voice to the will and desire of his constituents, not unlike many other elected representatives of the 'People'.

I have the answer, pick me, pick me, my hand is up, pick me----- once the urban areas have burned beneficently and the corpses of the dead are too decayed for consumption the best survival method will be: Hunting from well concealed ground blinds over corpse baited sites with small caliber guns and after the ammo is exhausted by bow and arrow or cross bow. Rats, canines, raccoon, opossum, cats, scavenger birds, all will make wonderful stews for many months after the Great Republican Redistribution.

Super Committee? More Like Super-Villain Committee! The American people did not agree to follow laws passed by this new thug group, and WE SHOULD NOT. It's a blatant middle-finger to the Constitution. There is a reason there are checks and balances on Congress, and it's NOT OKAY to just get rid of them. This whole committee is Unconstitutional, and we should not follow their laws.
