President Barack Obama will announce a double-barrelled economic package that aims to boost hiring and find budget savings that surpass the $1.5 trillion goal of a congressional deficit-cutting committee.
His ideas will be outlined in a major speech immediately after the September 5 Labor Day holiday, White House officials said.

I hope to God he finally gets up and demands that Congress pass some bills to help us. If he really pushes now the Republicans will have to vote to pass some jobs bills, or else the campaigns will be all about how they don't want Americans to work. Its a damn shame he let us languish this long, but he may figure that at this point the Republicans will just want to save their own seats by being able to say that they voted for a bill to put americans back to work. They've been holding our heads under water for so long, now theyll have to pull us out to look like they saved our lives.
