The social dogma against women rooted in religious indoctrination & the protest that exposes all

Matt Gratz, Political Fail Blog-

American society is an interesting concept to interpret from an observers point of view. Sex is the most natural activity there is. Without it, there wouldn't be anyone to be ashamed of the act. The majority has become so indoctrinated by religion or "traditional family values" that even the word breast can cause some "moral" individuals to feel uncomfortable.

Why do parents feel they need to protect their children from the sight of the human body? Why do people feel that the human body is something bad or dirty? You guessed it, religious ideas that aim to suppress the female spirit.

There has been a long war waged against Women reaching back thousands of years. There has been and continues to be a huge effort to keep the maternal, loving feminine energies at a minimum allowing the aggressive qualities of the masculine energies to set the mood of the planet. This has left the world in a state of stagnant aggression. The balance of the two energies is way off. We are taught from a young age that breasts are to be covered up and hidden from view but it is acceptable for men to go around shirtless. Is it the functionality of nipples that decides what is and isn't wholesome to see?

Fortunately some women are fighting back. A group of female activists plan to hold a topless demonstration at Pack Square Park in downtown Asheville, N.C. this Sunday August 21, 2011.

“We just want to raise awareness about this inequality,” said Livienne Love, the local protest organizer. “I know that women may be uncomfortable doing this, and that’s part of the issue.”

According to a Police Department spokesman Wally Welch, the women will not be violating any laws.

“They can breast away,” said Lt. Welch. “It’s not a crime.”

The law in North Carolina regarding indecent exposure only prohibits people from exposing genitalia below the belt. So this demonstration is aimed at the social dogma on the female form, rather than a bad law.

The event is set to begin at 1pm Sunday afternoon, and the organizers are asking men to show up wearing bras or bikini tops to illustrate the inequality present in our "modern progressive" society.

I'm not sure if it was planned, but there will be a church service taking place in the same park at the same time. This will be a great human behavior experiment. I would love to be there to observe how the "morally righteous" react to women freeing themselves from the very bonds the congregation is studying.

A spokesperson for the Gateway Christian Community Church says if necessary, they’ll completely turn their event so they’re facing the other direction. Out of sight out of mind.

    • This 3 minutes was more than I could stand. The level of misogyny spewed from the pulpit tells us all we need to know about where this new right wing theocracy wants to take this country. Any woman who could sit through this and come back the next week has NO self respect. Thanks for posting this and keeping us in the know, Pfailblog. Human garbage like this needs to be exposed. Thank you V for bringing me to this story.

    • this man has no place being in the house of the people --- he can go to the house of his bigot god , if they will take him , but he has betrayed a fundamental principle , the separation of church and state .... and , anyone who actually voted for him should be ashamed !
