I don't hear any Republican Right wing Xtians saying the earthquake was the result of President Obama not prosecuting financial fraud or Congress not providing for starving widows and orphans or the unemployed or healing the sick or feeding the homeless. I wonder why that is. Maybe the Bible isn't the playbook they're using any more. What a missed opportunity.

Jokes abound online after quake
This afternoon's earthquake had barely stopped before the online jokes started.Since the geological incident -- which occurred in Virginia, but was felt up and down the East Coast -- Twitterers (and other merry Internet pranksters) have invoked everyone from God to Ryan Gosling in their efforts to mock sensationalist responses and calm frazzled nerves.
Some of our favorite online reactions -- in addition to this much-shared photograph of "DC Earthquake Devastation" -- are these:
@joeljohnson: New York earthquakes are better because of our thinner crust.
@joshtpm: BREAKING: Obama WH announces contingency planning for Locusts, Frogs, Potomac running red.
@YUCKYBOT: Text "You spilled your chai latte" to 90999 to donate $1 to the victims of the U.S. East Coast earthquake.
@pourmecoffee: Earthquake in DC. Do not panic. A Super Committee will be formed to at some point possibly decide what to do.
@DanAmira: SORRY LIBYAN REBELS, THE GROUND OVER HERE SHOOK FOR LIKE 15 SECONDS. GOOD LUCK W/ EVERYTHING, WE DON'T CARE ANYMORE.
The quake also abruptly interrupted a press conference about the DSK rape case held in New York City by local District Attorney Cyrus Vance; the clip [via The Daily Beast] is worth watching:

Funny that Colorado at the New Mexico border had two significant quakes in two days and we didn't hear about it.
So how long before the CONservative evangelist preachers say this was cause of DOMA, or Obama, or Warren Buffet's idea about taxing the rich more than the poor?

I think aren't there a couple cults in Colorado? I think the News Media folks have a strict prohibition giving any attention to cults. So if you're in Colorado and NOT in a cult you still don't get the News. Much less anybody "out here".
Hmm. Colorado is under a religious cult quarantine.

You can FEEL the love emanating through the screen when Pat Robertson whispers about a caller on the Larry King Show.
I am amazed how they can point the finger at others and say, "It's YOUR fault things are bad!" That they truly believe that bad things like earthquakes and tornadoes happen becuase of smae-sex marriages and abortions.
I wonder what Pat would do if he were to receive a late night visit from Jerry Falwell like Scrooge did from Bob Marley telling Pat that God isn't happy with Pat's "preaching" hate and hurt.
Dollars to doughnuts Pat wouldn't change if his life depended on it. He's been hating for so long it's nearly impossible for people like him to see the errors of their way.
