What a mess; I heard on the news that it might take a couple of days for power to be restored? Sure left a mess in her wake. Take care. - 9 months ago

This storm was grossly overstated and hyped for a week. Are there some issues to deal with? Sure. BUt it was just a high wind storm with according results. It wasn't likea blizzard where there's also snow and cold to deal with.

It was at one point a category 3 almost a 4 and did damage all the way up the Caribbean and East Coast. Not as much in some areas as was originally predicted, but close to 4 million people are without power and there is flooding in many places. Hopefully we won't get anymore rain in this next week as we have already gotten a record amount for August not even counting Irene. The residual effects are now what is worrisome for those in flood zones and in areas where rivers and reservoirs are cresting or close to overflowing.

From the Carribean to North Carolina hurricanes are the norm. This storm was overstated and over hyped as "the storm of a lifetime." It wasn't.

And your point? You have a beef with the media or you just disappointed? Afterall, it did hit the "liberal" side of the country right?

Here's the difference between most of the people on this board and me. I don't wish bad fortune on anyone due to their political persuasion. Also, I own two homes that were in the path of the storm. One is right on the beach. My beef with the media is how they overhype storms all the time. At least John Bolaris was fired in Philadelphia for predicting the storm of the century for a day the sun shined. He kept calling it the perfect storm. I think he saw one too many movies.

Here's another difference: your posts demonstrate the attitude of a pompous ass and most of posts of the people on "this Board" do not.

At least I'm happy. I'm not whining and complaining on a board everyday that THE MAN is keeping me down. I never let others control my life. I created my own path to success and happiness.

Pictures of Irene's legacy. Some of us were indeed lucky to be spared from the full force.

Good to see you survived it all. Thank goodness Irene lost some of her strength before it made it to your area! :)
