The Chapter That Went Missing From Dick Cheney's Book

Dick Cheney’s hyper-hyped autobiography is short on revelations (it turns out that the “secret undisclosed location” was his house) but long, very long, on excuse making when it comes to the wars of whim into which he steered the United States. The former vice president is still sure there were weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, dismissing any talk of apologizing for his own weapons of mass deception pontificating in the run-up to the Iraq War. In fact, Cheney remains enthusiastic about every aspect of the wars of whim he steered the country into as Ronald Reagan’s chief congressional ally during the Iran-Contra scandal, George H.W. Bush’s hapless secretary of defense and George W. Bush’s neoconman prince regent, But where’s the chapter on Cheney’s heroic service in Vietnam? Of, that’s right, he had “other priorities” than responding to draft notices.

Try as readers may to find the tale of Cheney’s Vietnam service or, to be more precise, his meticulous avoidance of service, they just won’t find that In My Times offers much in the way of revelation about Cheney’s times.

Cheney has always positioned himself as an arch militarist. But when he had a chance to get on the frontlines, he instead deferments. A lot of them.

When people speak of the wealth of the Cheney clan or the Bush familys' "worth", all you will hear is what these two families want you to hear. Lies. The "hidden truth" is too unimaginable to fathom. If we could learn the truth, we would be shocked. Much of what Dick Cheney has is most likely being held in a Middle Eastern bank, probably Dubai in the United Arab Emirates and can NEVER be traced. The Bush family chose South America as the home to most of their wealth. They own nearly a hundred thousand of acres of land in Paraguay and Brazil. Another PURE speculation on my part would be Saudi Arabia as another "home" to the vast wealth of both families.

This is a story of one family of privilege who all they needed to do was breath since most of their wealth was what you'd call "Old Money" And another of a man of average means yet considered himself superior to the privileged class. Perhaps this is why the Bush family inherited a "shit eating grin" versus Dick, who possesses that famous "snear of contempt". Dick Cheney put his all into achieving the lofty perch of those like George W. Bush who was born into the "right family" and was handed everything on a silver platter, whereas Dick had to scrape and claw and still came up short no matter how hard he tried! In George's family it was a tradition to go to Yale and he slid through as if his ass was buttered. Dick Cheney made a gallant attempt but fell short. Dick couldn't cut the mustard. He wasn't made of the "right stuff" to succeed in those circles of wealth and influence. That must have been terrible for him to come to terms with the fact that he didn't "belong" to that level of high society even if he tried and tried again. Which he did. But failed miserably. So, if you're not born into the right family, what else can a person who thirsts for power, prestige and money do? Why go into politics, of course! And if you're cunning, can lie with a straight face and willing to do whatever it takes to climb that ladder of power, you'll go far! And to his credit, Dick Cheney has scratched his way to the mountain top.

Dick Cheney's "pedigree" is nothing compared to the "Blue Blood" of the Bush's, as the next three paragraphs will explain. This is why Dick Cheney wrote a book. He's a megalomaniac and hooked on that power kick of being in the spotlight of which he has not been a player in for a couple of years and it's eating him inside out! And the simple fact that he feels nothing but contempt for those he's rubbed shoulders with since January, 2001. All except his old friend, Donald Rumsfeld from the Old Guard. There's few of them left. Dick has no friends and everyone he was in charge of probably has forgotten him since he was a mean ol' man and he hates that!

"The Bush family is a prominent American family, with a net worth of $60 million. The Bush family has built their net worth from a family of successful bankers and businessmen that spans through three generations. In the bush family you have two U.S. Senators, one Supreme Court Justice, two Governors, one Vice President and two Presidents. The family is of both English and German descent. The biography of the family, that was written by author Peter Schweizer, has described the Bushes as “the most successful political dynasty in American history.” The elders, George Herbert Walker Bush and Barbara Pierce Bush, have been married for 66 years. As of today, they hold the record for the longest-married presidential couple.

The Bush compound is located near Kennebunkport, Maine, and has been in the Bush family since 1903. Ex-President George H. W. Bush uses this estate as his summer home, which he inherited, when his parents passed away. It was originally built by St. Louis banker George H. Walker. Former President George W. Bush’s “Summer White House,” also known as the “Western White House,” was the Prairie Chapel Ranch in Crawford, Texas. Richard Bush, who is believed to be the earliest known patrilineal member of the Bush family, lived from 1696 to 1732, in Bristol, Plymouth Colony. The Bush family has many connections to other prominent families, such as, wealthy American banker and businessman George Herbert “Bert” Walker . Walker was the grandfather of the 41st President, George H. W. Bush. George H. W. Bush‘s wife, First Lady Barbara Bush, is a second cousin of Franklin Pierce (14th President).

President George W. Bush is related to other presidents such as, Theodore Roosevelt , Nixon and Ford. He is even the 11th cousin, through Samuel and Sarah Soole Hinckley of 17th-century Massachusetts, to the current President Barack Obama. His further connections include his opponent, in the 2004 U.S. Presidential election, John Kerry. He is the 9th cousin to Kerry, twice removed. He also has ties to Winston Churchill, through three different families, the Coes of New York, the Sumners of Massachusetts, and the Shermans of Rhode Island. Some of Bush’s Mayflower descendants include; John Howland, John Tilley, Henry Sampson, and possibly Francis Cooke. Samuel P. Bush was president of the Ohio Association of Manufacturers, and a close adviser to President Hoover. He lived from 1863 to 1948. Prescott Bush served as a US Senator from Connecticut. Jeb Bush was the 43rd Governor of Florida, and is the second eldest son of George H.W. Bush. There are many different careers within the Bush family, in addition to their political ties. We have Lauren Bush, who is a model for Tommy Hilfiger, Marvin Bush, who is a venture capitalist, Jonathan S. Bush, who is an insurance executive, and Billy Bush , who is the host of Access Hollywood. There have been many books written about the successes, trials and tribulations of the bush family, such as, American Dynasty: Aristocracy, Fortune, and the Politics of Deceit in the House of Bush (2004), by Kevin Phillips, The Bushes: Portrait of a Dynasty, written by Peter Schweizer, and The Family: The Real Story of the Bush Dynasty, authored by Kitty Kelley. Even former President George W. Bush has written the story of his life, in the book titled, Decision Points."

I have petitioned the National Geographic Channel with my complaints and even though I will miss out on many of the programming that they do broadcast that is informative, I must keep to the promise I made to myself to abstain from viewing their channel.

George W. Bush is the epitome of a disassociated individual that does not have a grasp on reality.

      He is a sad character.

I pity him for his total lack of integrity or intelligence.

His skills at self-examination are nonexistent.

      He...is a fool.

    • Cheney's health issues made headlines even after he left office, with much hype surrounding his 2010 heart surgery. In the epilogue of his book, he reveals more details about his recovery, describing a dream he had while unconscious post-operation.

      The New York Times reports:

And in the epilogue, Mr. Cheney writes that after undergoing heart surgery in 2010, he was unconscious for weeks. During that period, he wrote, he had a prolonged, vivid dream that he was living in an Italian villa, pacing the stone paths to get coffee and newspapers.

    • I would feel safer if we were to cut him up, throw his brains in a hurricane, toss his ears into Lake Titicaca, send his stomach to the poor in Africa, chuck his feet into the mouth of a volcano, ship his eyes to the Moon to so they can see the whole, entire Earth he's trampled and ruined, plant his heart at the South Pole to refreeze it solid, but keep his lips in Washington to enshrine in a case so we can back up to them with our bare butts to be able to say he's kissed our asses!

Am I bad for thinking this?

He says in his book how Bush made the final decison to go to war against Iraq, however, the same argument can be made when a ventriloquist moves the mouth and speaks through the puppet in his grasp that, "It's not ME speaking! It's the dummy in my lap!".

All of the right-wing assholes in this country seem to get empowered by idiots like this. The sneer is what gets me. He knows that he is above the law, and no politician or judge has the guts to go after him. That is one of the biggest things wrong with this country. No matter what political party they are from, they watch each other’s backs, unless it has to do with some sexual peccadillo, then they get cut loose. But, mass murder and torture, no problem. http://sibob.org/wordpress/

      I beg to differ, sibob.

Vitter is STILL there. Larry Craig served for far too long after his wide stance and I have many more examples. Republicans mostly show no contriteness for their transgressions.

But Democrats normally are honorable just enough to resign.

But which Party stands on top of that morality mountain declaring that they are the Family Values Party?

And then the complete hypocrisy of Republicans like Newt who at the very time he was ridiculing Clinton for his "Monica Moment", Newt was PAYING for his mistress's condo and everything else AND had told his wife when he , his wife AND minister had a meeting about their marriage and Newt had the damn GALL to tell his wife to live with the idea or file for divorce! Now, I am talking about his SECOND wife. He divorced his first wife after she was served the divorce papers while in the hospital undergoing cancer treatment.

That's what I call an EPIC FAIL!

But who is running for the presidency STILL? Newt!

You're right, there is a bias on that issue. I was thinking of what they did to Bill Clinton, Eliot Spitzer and Anthony Wiener. But, like you said, Newt gets to walk. They were Democrats and held accountable, and he wasn't. But on issues like torture and getting us into war, both parties look the other way. Obama swore to close Guantanamo and to end Bush's wars, it never happened. (Although there is a general scaling back, and there are plans to get us out. But, with the recent escalation of violence in Iraq, I don't think so.)

We must not forget "politician speak", though. When Obama said he'd get us out of Iraq if he had done that overnight the country would have collapsed into chaos and more Iarqi blood would have been on our hands. That really would not have been a good thing...and we are getting out. Slowly.

Afghainstan was aother kettle of fish, though. Even after nearly ten years there we have only scratched the surface of getting that country stablilized. And the same would apply to them about more blood being the result of our departure too soon.

That's what the REAL reality is with the two wars Bush began...without paying for either, I would add!

It's tough to be president. I wouldn't want the job!

And Gitmo is being emptied. But since the Republicans stirred up the populace here that it would be a bad thing to bring the masterminds to America for trial, his hands are tied. I'll bet he didn't think about that when he made that campaign promise.

So is the life of an American President.

They were raised in that environment. Where your or my father was extolling the virtues of honor and integrity, theirs were telling them, "Son, honor and integrity is for the stupid Americans who believe in fantasies. And that there's MORE than a sucker born every minute. There's nine out of ten. My job is to make sure you're the one out of ten that send the other nine off to war."

Oh, there's the occasional general or military officer's son that serves because it's their duty as a military family to keep the tradition alive. But most of them give orders for the peons to climb out of a foxhole and fight while they hunker down pissing their pants when the lead starts to fly.

How in what's Holy did GWB get into military pilot training without the efforts of his Daddy, Mr. CIA Director?

"In November 1970, Lt. Col. Jerry B. Killian, commander of the 111th Fighter Squadron, recommended that Bush be promoted to First Lieutenant, calling him "a dynamic outstanding young officer" who stood out as "a top notch fighter interceptor pilot." He said that "Lt. Bush's skills far exceed his contemporaries," and that "he is a natural leader whom his contemporaries look to for leadership. Lt. Bush is also a good follower with outstanding disciplinary traits and an impeccable military bearing."

(I haven't read such a load of crap in all my life!)

"Air National Guard members could volunteer for active duty service with the Air Force in a program called Palace Alert, which deployed F-102 pilots to Europe and Southeast Asia, including Vietnam and Thailand. According to three pilots from Bush's squadron, Bush inquired about this program but was advised by the base commander that he did not have the necessary experience (500 hours) at the time and that the F-102 would soon be retired."

(But HERE'S the REAL kicker out of all of this!!!!)

"During the 1968–1974 period, Presidents Johnson and Nixon decided against calling up National Guard units for service in Vietnam. As a result, National Guard service was widely portrayed as a way to avoid combat. The waiting list for the Guard at that time was extremely long, and there have been charges that young men from influential families were improperly moved to the top of the list." (Source: Wikipedia)

He waited until both World Trade Towers and the Pentagon were struck before scrambling jetfighters from Langley airforce base, trained to respond 24/7/365.4 within FIVE MINUTES.

I turned to my wife and said to her what we were wayching on T.V. that morning was NO ACCIDENT and I'll bet there's more where that one came from! Someone better get some jets in the sky or more will be flying into other buildings!

And we sat, our eyes ficed to the screen, and me not realizing how horrific things were about to get! But, I also told her that if there were more coming, they would be hitting different targets.

Then the second plane hit the other tower.

And all the while I was jumping up and down yelling at the T.V., "What's going on? Who's in charge of the Air Force? Why aren't there any jets in the sky? Who's protecting the people of New York? That Giuliani, I never did care for him!"

There were reports that a plane was flying over Cleveland that was suspected of being hijacked. I was telling my wife that if that were true, there's got to be more than the two we just witnessed fyling into the World Trade Towers.

Now, I ask you, if an average ordinary guy like me can come up with enough brains cells to rub together to figure all that out, what do we paly all those big wigs big buxks for? Or have generals when a lowly private in the military most likely was jumping up and down while he was watching HIS T.V. screen yelling, "Who's in charge?".

And then...the news came out about our fearless Vice Presidnet was hunkered down in a secret location and had everything under control!

I laughed the kaugh of a crazy man as I was telling my wife Cheney was an idiot since he couldn't think what I was thinking and didn't do squat but runf for his life when danger was in the sky. I know I looked crazy that morning because my wife told me to calm down and get a grip of myself.

I always heed her advice. But I couldn't. Not on the morning of September 11th, 2001.

Called his book gossip and tabloid, and nothing but cheap shots. Schaeffer said, people show up to do the show, he wonders why, but there was no question Powell had something to say. I am not a 911 truther, but the Bush admin. let it happen from hubris and malfeasance. Then they lied to cover their incompetance. The let the financial world run amok and lied to cover that. Show me one instance of Obama lying. Just one. (no not the damn birth cert.! lol)

      ABSOLUTELY correct on ALL accounts!

And I listened to Colin Powell, too, but I think he just lowered himself by addressing what DICK Cheney wrote in his book. And I'll be watching that Cheney interview tonight, too.

As I yell at the screen calling him the dirtbag he is...and worse!

    • There is only one Dick Cheney quote that I can think of that fits this occasion.

As the big dick so eloquently put it to Sen. Leahy; "Go fu*k yourself".

I hope I don't pass away before he does because there's one thing I'd love to do...attach a toilet paper roll dispenser beside his headstone with a marker indicating the spot where his face ought to be and a sign above it saying,
"Leave Your Gift for an American Hero Here".

Am I bad for thinking this?

    • I wonder if he left out the part about all the sex in public bathrooms with homeless men? I did some digging and was able to come up with an excerpt...

" It was my 42nd birthday, I had been figuratively fucking poor people for years, but now i had a craving for something more visceral, his name was hank and he smelled of pee, my stomach turned at first, but once he accepted the money, the power trip began to kick in..."

      Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa?

      Doesn't EVERYBODY know?

It has the name "Fox" in it, but of course!

It used to be called Fox Nudes with a silent "d" in the middle but they got busted one night when Billo the Clown and Glennda Becky made a scene!

      LOL

The Homestead, in Hot Springs, VA. People in that town still talk about the caravan of black SUVs that headed to the Homestead after 9-11, but good luck trying to click on the actual link to the place. You can go through Trip Advisor or something similar, but the direct link surprisingly....doesn't seem to work.... maybe it's just on my computer, or maybe they are updating their website. Who knows, but this was the hideout.

Wow, I didn't know that. It's been years since I've been in that town, went to see a bluegrass group perform there, and heard the stories from several people at the event who had family members working there post 9-11. Had no idea they shut it down, but the place seemed a bit of a ghost town even then. So now they've renovated the Greenbriar too, and gone hyper-commercialized with that place, wonder where the new hideout is?

    • I believe Cheney is what is called a chicken hawk. I've known about this for years. He's a coward and he loves war just as long as it's someone else's kids who go off to fight in it. Cheney didn't do shit for his country. He probably would've dropped dead the first time somebody tried to shoot at him.

He's pretty good with a gun. He hunted in Wyoming all the time. The problem with him would have been he might have shot our troops in the back, not just the enemy!

Heckydarn, he shoots his friends in the face!

      LOL

The video is of my hero telling Dick Cheney to, "Go F**k yourself, Mr. Cheney!".

      LMAO!

      Bill,
I love this! It's a great piece of footage. I saw this in the Spike Lee documentary "When the Levees Broke." This guy had every right to yell "Go F**k yourself" to Cheney. Hell, it's what Cheney told everybody else to do. I'm glad this guy had the balls to yell that at Cheney! Classic! I also like when the reporter said to Cheney--"Do you get alot of that?" LMAO!

Great video Bill. I don't think I'd be able to show this kind of restraint, SS or not. Pushed to that kind of limit, I'd like to think I'd jump on his back and bite his neck with my fangs. GD'd old war criminal, he can't croak soon enough.

Wanna see his "patch" he earned after sending his 300,000th sucker...er, soldier off to war?

Yes, chickenhawks have their own little uniforms they parade around in secretly and needed patches to sew on them to look "special".

That American Flag that's on their right upper sleeve (NEVER the left!) looked so all alone by itself.

      LOL

you can not drop dead if your motor keeps running
He could burn up too much oxygen and end up like Reagan (brain dead)
      No brain no war crimes
      just like Jared Lee Loughner
